A barnstar for you!
The Barnstar of Diplomacy | |
I just wanted to say thanks for working with me on the English Standard Version article. It's not there yet, but it's better because of your input and teamwork. Thanks for putting up with me ;) ReformedArsenal (talk) 20:21, 2 December 2012 (UTC) |
Gail Riplinger sources
Thanks for expressing an interest in working on this topic. I'm going to be near Kent State University around the first week of January and will try to make time to drop in to what used to be the Home Economics Department and see what they have. I'm hoping the student paper or department newsletter might have a short bio of Gail Kaleda that we can use. The library also has copies of the six textbooks she claims to have written; I'm going to be very interested to see what those are like.
If you have any other suggestions of leads to track down while I'm in the area, let me know.
Thanks,

AfD
Please consider withdrawing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joni Eareckson Tada. You nominated a bestselling author, international award winner, and person who has been the subject of multiple independent publications. The AfD process requires WP:BEFORE any nomination in which the top ten results of any background check reveal numerous reliable and independent publications which would satisfy every single policy you listed in your nomination. Mkdwtalk 22:09, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- Would you like help closing the AfD? Both the AfD template on the article as well as the AfD are still listed. Mkdwtalk 00:29, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- I think another user cleaned up my boo boo. However if I need to be spanked for additional cleanup, please advise. Basileias (talk) 00:32, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- Not at all. {{afdtop}} and {{afdbottom}} are handy templates to use when closing an AfD. Also, I went ahead and removed the AfD template on the article after I saw User:StAnselm fix the AfD closure template. Happy editing. Mkdwtalk 00:34, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for mopping up after me. Now if only I could get people at work to do this for me. Basileias (talk) 00:36, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- No problem. Thanks for closing it. StAnselm (talk) 00:42, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

The comment I made was very civil and you are very biased and have made Wikipedia, for many, no longer a useful tool for research. My entire congregation has now turned away from the NIV. Seeing how biased and unfairly it's "washed" on here. You have been closed to everyone who doesn't agree with you, deleting EVERYONE's thoughts and revisions as though you're smoke and mirroring the general public from an unbiased research. The few people you've reached online will never compare to the viral negative marketing you've personally sparked with regards to the NIV and Wikipedia, behold that very document is already being discussed through internet social networks and physical social networks continually. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.133.17.223 (talk) 22:51, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
Like the person above, I also was accused falsely. I was accused of threatening you outside of Wiki, but how would I even find you? The threat wasn't outside of Wiki, but I think you know well, inside of Wiki that we would form a team to consistenly edit the NIV and make it truly unbiased and tell the truth about the NIV and I'm sure Zondervan would not like that, but you are dishonestly biased towards making the NIV seem perfect and you state on your page that you aren't even a Christian. I use your page as an example of how underhanded Zondervan is and use it to convert many people away from the NIV as an untrustworthy translation. I'm sure you're being hired by Zondervan. This article in Wiki is extremely biased and you won't let a single person put anything truthful regardless of their refrences, always coming up with a random reason to delete it. If we don't start seeing an unbiased, honest document about the truth of the NIV translation a few of us have already decided to team up and keep the NIV article honest and unbiased. It would be better if you just loosen up your grip on the article because if we have to resort to that to keep Wiki an unbiased encyclopedia that all can trust then you and whoever else Zondervan hires will loose all control of the article. You should be banned from Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.133.17.223 (talk) 19:42, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
Style Guide
It appears that, in listing a dispute about Isaiah 7 for a third opinion, you may have accidentally added an incorrect link also. Please check it. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:39, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
Isaiah 7:14/Almah
MM seems to have lost interest and wandered off. I think you've done all that can be expected to telegraph your intentions, go ahead with your concept and we'll see how it looks. PiCo (talk) 05:53, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- If you are alright with this, I would like to wait a few more days. If someone is then against this after I start migrating verbiage, then I have the notice on the talk page to fall back on to push back (if I decided to push back, which will probably be unlikely). Gender-neutral Bible & NIV Bible
Basileias, I am a bit confused about your recent editing of my work. You seem more interested in hiding documentation and driving an agenda rather than helping wiki readers learn about various subjects. For example, this is a quote from the NIV page.
However, the Southern Baptist Convention rejected the 2011 update because of gender-related issues.
This sentence has no sourcing. I bring in a source and you remove it. The source is the resolution that Southern Baptists passed against the 2011 NIV. Why would you not want this linked? It is obviously a good source for the sentence. Here is the link: http://www.sbc.net/resolutions/1218/on-the-genderneutral-2011-new-international-version . Please do not remove this source until you have worked through the NIV Bible discussion page. Your refusal to allow such common sense sources shows you to have an agenda beside informing wiki readers. Linking the gender-neutral Bible page under criticism is also helpful to wiki readers. CBMW is made up of many conservative theologian, including Wayne Grudem who is the editor of the ESV Bible. Please leave this these changes alone until other editors speak to the matter.
I have asked other editors to give their opinions on the NIV talk page.
My next problem with your edits involves removing my work from the gender-neutral Bible page. I added examples that readers will find very helpful. You required sources for this information. I sourced an article. It is important to note that the information I posted are verbatim examples of the 1984 NIV being compared to the 2011 NIV. I did not post the CBMW article to source critical opinions, but to source the NIV comparison quotes. The quotes are undisputable facts. I am disappointed that you will not allow a simple comparison between to NIV versions. Please do not remove these edits until others have had a chance to respond on the talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toverton28 (talk • contribs) 21:53, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
