Fury WBO Super Champion

[edit]

Hi Basegod66, we are having a dispute with some user on the german wikipedia about Fury being a "WBO Super Champion" or not . Since the title is not aquired automatically by defeating a Super Champion (see WBO [1]) and no information to be found on the web I guess he is not and never was. Fury is currently listed in the EN wikipedia (added yesterday by a German IP). What's your take on this? ;) --HanFSolo (talk) 06:54, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Whats up HanFSolo, sorry for the really late response. The current WBO rankings (http://www.wboboxing.com/rankings) only list Sergei Kovalev and Donnie Nietes as super champions. However, I feel it is worth mentioning that the WBO doesn't seem to put that much care in to editing their rankings web page. I noticed errors in the past and it is possible that Fury may be the "Super Champion" but not listed as such on the ranking web page. I don't have a concrete take on whether or not Tyson is the Super Champ or not but it is noteworthy that the WBO rankings don't list him as a Super Champion.
