I made the edit at Music you requested, thanks for the fix. Just so you know, there is a template, (Template:Editsemiprotected), for doing this. It automatically adds the article to a category (Category:Wikipedia semi-protected edit requests). People watch this category, so it's usually the quickest way to get someone to notice your edit request. All you have to do is add {{Template:Editsemiprotected}} at the top of your request. Cheers. CeCe Peniston
[edit]User talk:Baron Von Tarkin Hi, I have highlighted sources regarding Peniston's 'Personal Life'. As for her being a baptist and classifiyng her political views supporting democrats, I can provide a screenshot from her Facebook profile with bio information if neessary. She is among my friends on FB. Benuliak 19:23, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Hi, I appreciate your effort and response. Great work so far! Unfortunately, Facebook is not considered a reliable source. Wikipedia requires vetted sources for verification. Self-published sources are generally not trusted. I also asked for sources for some other items where the source you provided does not mention the information you attribute to it. Thanks! - Hey! It took me a while to reply, but here I go again. I checked the highlighted parts [citation needed], and see my answers below, plz:
1> However sometimes the reference links to books don't work properly, you may want to give it a shout again, cause I checked the link and it worked in fact. So regarding Peniston being Miss Black Arizona in 1989, see: http://books.google.cz/books?id=kOG9Dct-pQoC&pg=PA208&dq=%22cece+peniston%22&hl=cs&ei=LjdyTPrIGMiUswaJ46S5Bg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CDEQ6AEwAjgK#v=onepage&q=%22cece%20peniston%22&f=true Anyway, there are lots of other sources quoting this fact, so I can use an alternate no doubt.
2> As for her being Miss Galaxy, I just forgot to attach the reference link, that I used later several times within the Peniston's sub-articles, so maybe that's why. My fault, so here is the link to Chicago Magazine, in which she actually confirms also winning Miss Black Arizona 89: http://www.5chicago.com/features/june2006/cecepeniston.html
3> And as concern that Whitney Houston as "being incorrectly denoted to be the first in South Africa", this is the only (written) source I found so far: http://www.gotofirstclass.com/cece_peniston.htm (in which Peniston is mentioned "only" as: to be historically the first female entertainer to visit and perform after the abolition of apartheid, before fellow recording artist Whitney Houston
BUT (!)
Peniston was a guest at LA Talk Radio - On Air with Tony Sweet last year, September 4, when she herself spoke about the issue regarding Houston, but there is "only" a direct audio-file: http://www.latalkradio.com/Players/Tony-090409.shtmlso if this helps, go ahead please, and listen to the discussed part of her interview which starts at 1:09:30. Do you think that I could just simply use this as a reference link as for this?
Thank you for any advice which I do appreciate myself. As well as thanks heaps for keeping an eye on me. I'm trying to do my best, however I am not a native english speaker, so it takes me sometimes longer to get things done the way I would love. Later on I would also need someone willing to go through the Peniston article(s) and check my (in)definite articles, with which I am struggling from time to time. Hope you are having a good day (m)anyway. Be well ,-) Benuliak 13:34, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
