[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Skitash. I noticed that you recently removed content from First Barbary War without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Skitash (talk) 19:05, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Skitash! Im pretty sure I left a paragraph in the edit summary explaining why I made the edit, just thought I would let you know. Thanks! Baqiyah (talk) 19:07, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to List of wars involving Libya. Your edits do not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's core content policies before you continue editing. R Prazeres (talk) 01:33, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain to me why it is incorrect? The emirates I listed are Emirates that originated in modern day Libya, and the 2 Senussi-Ottoman battles are battles available on wikipedia you can see for yourself. Why revert them? Baqiyah (talk) 01:37, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's unsourced and these are not predecessor states of Libya just because they're medieval factions that happen to occupy areas in what is now Libya. This is WP:OR, which is one of the core content policies I linked to you above. At most, if you want to make an argument for including anything like that again, please make your case on the talk page and wait to see if a consensus of editors agrees. R Prazeres (talk) 01:45, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, makes sense. What about the Senussi-Ottoman battles I provided? The Battle of Derna (1912) and the Battle of Tobruk (1911). Baqiyah (talk) 01:51, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Those aren't wars. In fact, as the maintenance template at the top of the article indicates, there are a bunch of "battles" in that list which should be removed. R Prazeres (talk) 02:06, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Admin Help

[edit]

Recently, I had made an edit on the Libyan Civil War (2011) article, in which I had added in nations that were in support of Maummer Gaddafi. All of the nations that I provided were sourced with reliable sources and proved that these nations did in fact support the Gaddafi Regime. However, Abhishek0831996 reverted the edits, claiming that they were "unreliable" and what not. In order to not engage in an edit war, I was wondering if someone else could chime in and express their opinion. The sources provided can be found on this version of the article → https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Libyan_civil_war_(2011)&oldid=1206915651

Abhishek0831996 and I's discussion can be found on the Libyan Civil War (2011) talk page. Baqiyah (talk) 00:57, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see the article you've recently created uses a number of citations to youtube videos. These are not reliable. Do you have better citations for the information? Else, it will have to be removed. microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 15:40, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have a couple, I will put them in as soon as possible. Thanks for letting me know! Baqiyah (talk) 15:44, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

March 2024

[edit]
May I ask what this is about @Drmies? How did I violate policy? Baqiyah (talk) 14:36, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! That's easy: you can only have one account, and if your account gets blocked, in this case User:Yousefsw07, and you start a new one (and continue the same disruption), then you broke the rule! Now, Yamla said a mean, mean thing in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Yousefsw07/Archive: "Honestly, Yousefsw07 is so bad at this that it makes it easy to knock these down". I don't disagree, but I do think you did a pretty decent job with Misrata Military Council, which is much better than the first version you wrote up, under that Faze TK account I believe. But hey, the rules are the rules. If you could stop that awful itch and not make any new accounts, and not edit, not even as an IP, for six whole months, then you can ask to be unblocked per WP:OFFER. But you'd have to promise also not to edit war, like you did with the first account. Drmies (talk) 15:27, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No you have to avoid editing at all for another 6 months if you want to get unblocked. Abhishek0831996 (talk) 03:10, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Block appeal

Request reason:

I was indefinitely banned under WP:3X over eight months ago due to my involvement in sock puppetry. I fully recognize that my actions were a serious breach of Wikipedia’s guidelines and disrupted the integrity of the community. I deeply regret my behavior and the negative impact it had, not only on the trust within the community but also on the collaborative spirit that Wikipedia itself is built upon. If this block gets removed successfully, moving forward, I will be committed to contributing in a fair, respectful, and constructive manner. I am eager to re-engage with the Wikipedia community and restore the trust that was lost. I truly value the opportunity to contribute positively to the platform and am ready to follow all guidelines and policies with integrity. -Baqiyah Baqiyah (talk) 16:36, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline. Once you are ready to make an WP:UNBAN request to the community, place it here in the form of an unblock request and ask that it be carried over to WP:AN for community discussion. You need to do so from the oldest account you can still access. Yamla (talk) 21:42, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

As this is a 3X block, no admin can unilaterally lift it. This needs to go to WP:AN for a community discussion, and this statement is far from sufficient to bring there. You will need to expand it to include specific discussion about the reasons for the block and what you will do differently; more than the general comments you make here. 331dot (talk) 17:02, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know, once I create my appeal do I publish it on my talk page and then does it get sent to WP:AN? Baqiyah (talk)

Unblock request

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Baqiyah (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Hello Mods! First and foremost, I want to offer my sincere apologies for my past mistakes. I recognize the harm I caused, and I am committed to facing my actions and working to regain the trust of this community. It has been around eight months or so since I was last blocked, and during this time, I deeply reflected on my actions and fully understood the gravity of my past violations. I also took the time to further educate myself on the do's and don'ts of Wikipedia in order to never repeat any of the same mistakes again. After waiting more than the mandatory six-month period since my block, I am now requesting the opportunity to appeal my ban through the WP:UNBAN process. To provide some context and clarity, I’d like to explain how things went wrong. I began editing with my main account, YousefSW07 , without a clear focus or understanding of Wikipedia's policies. My edits were indiscriminate, and I lacked knowledge about the topics I was editing. As a result, I made many mistakes, including engaging in edit wars and arguing with administrators, unaware that these actions were violations of community guidelines. When that account was blocked, I created S Molecular in an attempt to bypass the restrictions, stupidly thinking I could continue editing undetected. I engaged in more edit warring and was eventually banned and caught for sock puppetry. I now fully understand that I should not have done this whatsoever and there is no justification for what I did. Instead of learning from my mistakes, I created several other accounts—Burhim, Lybcarian, Walgart, and FazeTK—thinking I could simply avoid violating the guidelines and escape detection. But I was wrong, and I was banned on all of these accounts as well. After a short period of time, I created Baqiyah, stupidly thinking that if I started fresh and followed the guidelines, I should be fine. I worked on creating new pages and made efforts to abide by the rules, but I was still a sockpuppet, I was then caught again, as I should have. At this point, I took a break from editing and waited out the mandatory six-month period before appealing. Since then, I have spent additional time reflecting on the harm I caused and disciplining myself. I fully understand why I was banned multiple times, and I sincerely apologize for my actions and the disruption they caused to the community. I now realize that true contribution to Wikipedia requires a commitment to the community's values (collaboration, transparency, and respect for policies). I am truly sorry for betraying those values in the past, and I am asking for the chance to prove that I can contribute constructively moving forward. I want to be an active, positive part of Wikipedia, working alongside other editors and adhering strictly to the rules. I also very much understand if there is any concern regarding my unban and am willing to answer any questions you may have. I humbly ask for the opportunity to rejoin the community and contribute in a way that reflects the integrity and spirit of Wikipedia. Thank you for considering my appeal. Sincerely Baqiyah

Decline reason:

There were not just one, but two confirmed socks of yours yesterday. The AN discussion has been closed due to this and this request is declined. Also WP:BROTHER. If you want to request an removal of your 3X ban, do not request another one for at least one year, with NO socks and this may be considered. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:32, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Can this appeal be carried over to WP:AN? Baqiyah (talk) 16:00, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

So this is the oldest account you can access? 331dot (talk) 19:20, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot the passwords for them. This was the only one I had saved. Baqiyah (talk) 20:31, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have copied it over to AN. If you have replies to comments there, please place them here so those too can be copied over. 331dot (talk) 21:34, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In response to someone who mentioned Syria4you and the other account
Those accounts belong to my older brother, I have had zero involvement in them whatsoever. I should've mentioned this in my appeal. Baqiyah (talk) 23:06, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't it convenient that we have an exact page name for attributing blame on your siblings. We have heard this excuse too many times. OhanaUnitedTalk page 21:35, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
