Please help me with... I'm trying to move the page الشيخ مرتضى أبوبكر غاتا to the draftspace using User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js but every time I try the following error message "API error: titleblacklist-forbidden-move. Could this please be investigated? BangJan1999 21:29, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- It looks like the specific titleblacklist entry this is matching is one which prevents a mix of latin + nonlatin characters in a title (specifically, this:
(?!(User|Wikipedia)( talk)?:|Talk:)\\P{L}*\\p{Latin}.*[^\\p{Latin}\\P{L}ʻ].* <moveonly> # Latin + non-Latin
). Unfortunately, as the namespace uses latin characters and the rest of the title uses arabic characters, it's hitting this entry on move. I think it might be a bug that this doesn't include the Draft namespace in the exclusions - it might be worth bringing this up on MediaWiki talk:Titleblacklist. stwalkerster (sock | talk) 10:15, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

Did I do the right thing WP:SNOW closing Wikipedia:In the news/Candidates#(Closed) Democratic backsliding in the United States the way I did? BangJan1999 21:52, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
- It looks technically okay, but it also looks like only 90 minutes elapsed between the open and close. If you were not confident that it was the "right thing", you could have left it for someone else to take care of. Asking about it here in a {{help}} request seems a bit strange. Helpers will help with "how to edit", but generally try to avoid getting in discussions of content or - as in this case - validating your judgments. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 00:41, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
ITN recognition for Louise Glück
On 14 October 2023, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Louise Glück, which you nominated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. SpencerT•C 16:14, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
Objective facts and ITN
Hi there, I noticed that you’ve hatted my vote in the ITN nomination on the death of Martti Ahtisaari along with the ensuing discussion. I don’t object it because it’s something that you’re allowed to do (frankly speaking, I’ve done it myself in the past), but the rationale for closing is problematic for two reasons. Firstly, the quoted statement made by Ahtisaari has been analysed in research papers published in peer-reviewed journals (if you have access to The Wikipedia Library, you can easily find them in full content). Secondly, votes on ITN nominations are inherently based on personal opinions. Whether someone considers something notable or not is nothing but a personal opinion inferred from someone’s own knowledge (this was repeated zillion times on the ITN’s talk page after editors had complained about it). Thank you for your future consideration. Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 16:47, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
