If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

Speedy deletion nomination of Bambam1019/Moses, Man of the Mountain

[edit]

Hello Bambam1019,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MPGuy2824, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Bambam1019/Moses, Man of the Mountain, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Moses, Man of the Mountain. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hi Bambam1019,

I would suggest you add citations for your character list. You provide important and relevant information about the characters, but do not insert citations. Since you added a section on characters, it may be helpful to include a brief sentence about the main characters in the lead. However, the lead is pretty detailed considering the length of the article. I would recommend adding further sections on the page, such as sections on plot, themes, critical reception, etc. The lead currently includes information that is not mentioned elsewhere. The tone of your edits are neutral, which is good. Good luck with the rest of your article! Mishagator (talk) 19:30, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bambam1019,

Your added content is all relevant and up-to-date, though obviously there is still much more information about the novel that is currently yet to be added. The content is sufficiently neutral and unbiased, as it simply describes the characters from the novel, and does not represent any particular viewpoints or attempt to convince the reader of anything. The novel itself is added as a citation, but is currently never cited in the article; it may be beneficial to add a citation to the character descriptions. There are also probably many more sources that could be added as the article develops. The added information is well-written and has no noticeable spelling or grammar errors that I can see. It is broken down into distinct sections for each character - is this necessary? It seems as though it may be better to simply list all of the characters under the character section, without additional sub-sections.

Overall, this was a good start, with the current additions being clear, relevant, and noteworthy. There is clearly much more work that could be done however; sections for the plot, themes, critical reception of the novel, etc. would go a long way toward fleshing out the page going forward.
