Hello, Baileyw912, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Article assignment

[edit]

I noticed that you assigned yourself the race and crime in the United States article to work on. I'm sure you're not surprised to realize the topic is a contentious one. You'll notice, for example, that some statements in the lead section have more references than you'd expect, which is a good sign that people have fought over including certain facts. Before you edit the page, please take a look, not only at the article's talk page, but also at the talk page's archives, in particular Archive 5 and maybe the more recent parts of Archive 4.

Please get in touch with me if you have questions. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:48, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
