[edit]Hello, I'm Eeekster. I noticed that you recently removed some content from NCAA Division II independent schools without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Eeekster (talk) 19:48, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

I work at Bluefield State College in the athletics department and I'm attempting to remove the content that we are a future independent member from this page. There are no sources cited that we are going independent yet you continue to put it back. Please remove it.
- If Bluefield State isn't going to be Independent, which athletic conference will it join? jlog3000 (talk)
We're exploring our options, but being independent is not one of them
- Ok. I'll believe you on that, but the only options that I can think of are either the Mountain East Conference or the Great Midwest Athletic Conference now that the WVIAC will have its final season after June 30 of this year. jlog3000 (talk) 02:06, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- I'll admit I was only guessing about BSC's future, as have others, when I updated the page. It has now been 7 months since the announcement of the MEC and the future conferences for the rest of the WVIAC; it was posted 6 months ago that BSC would be independent on the WVIAC page. Other websites have posted articles about getting no response from the school about what it will do. I will speculate since Bluefield State does not have football that would rule out the Mountain East and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association leaving only two real possibilities being the G-MAC and Conference Carolinas. I feel time is running out to make a decision. Thank you for this information, please post on my talk page any updates. Msjraz64 (talk) 03:40, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- Please note that your username does not conform to Wikipedia's username policy as it appears to represent a group and implies shared use. Another user has already reported it to Usernames for administrator attention, so I would suggest you request a change of username before this account is blocked. Even if you rename this account, you still have a clear conflict of interest and you should review the plain and simple conflict of interest guide for new editors. Thanks. --Drm310 (talk) 06:54, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
Be that as it may, wouldn't you want the accurate information on the site? Regardless if there is a conflict of interest I would think the people that come to Wikipedia would want what is accurate information and not a guess.
- Yes, you are correct. Accurate information about subjects, as evidenced by reliable independent sources is desirable in all instances. In addition, users with a conflict of interest are not prohibited from editing articles with which they are connected, as long as they disclose their affiliation and adhere to a neutral point of view. Still, good intentions don't negate the username problem. Please request a change of username to one that represents you as an individual and not your organization. Thanks. --Drm310 (talk) 14:47, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- I believe that Bluefield State College would be a great member of either the G-MAC or the Mountain East. Besides, Wheeling Jesuit University is a non-football-sponsoring school, and it has planned to join the Mountain East, along with the other 11 schools with football. And if I remember correctly, according to some sources I found, Bluefield State once fielded a football program in the past. jlog3000 (talk) 14:28, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
