A tag has been placed on Birkirkara M.U.S.E.U.M. Branch requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 79.179.35.181 (talk) 20:10, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Malta and lists

[edit]

Hi,

I se you're putting out much information on the streets of Malta. Just remember that Wikipedia is not a a-z list (WP:NOT). I think the points in Help:Starting a new page could be useful as well! Why not add some sentences to Valletta in stead? It's quite short and needs more material (but maybe not a list of place names). Nice to se you making inter-language wiki-links! Be bold. - Kristod (talk) 17:04, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article English to Maltese Dictionary for Children, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:English to Maltese Dictionary for Children. You may remove the {{dated prod}} template, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I put some comments on this article. It doesn't really seem to fit in anywhere. It reads more like a fragment of an essay than a wikipedia article. Also please consider visiting WP:MALTA to participate in coordination. 「ѕʀʟ·16:59, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello BONGU SEAN

[edit]

I see you have created quite a few articles. Thanks for contributing, you're doing a good job. But there's a few things that you need to do when creating articles:

  • Please cite your sources to prove the article is notable enough to stay on Wikipedia. One example is at Bulebel Industrial Estate, please find some links to prove its importance and add them to the article.
  • If an article is short (about four or less paragraphs) then please stub them with {{malta-stub}}. That way, when other editors come to look for pages to expand, your article will be found.
  • Please categorise them in an appropriate category. A list of Malta-related categories is located at Category:Malta.
  • Please link them to any relevant articles (for example I've added Holy Week in Malta to the Culture of Malta and Holy Week pages).

Also I've listed St. Joseph Boys Junior Lyceum (Malta) for deletion because I cannot find any sources on the Internet that proves its importance. If you know of any websites or books that proves that it was the first junior lyceum in Malta, please add them to the article then tell us what you did at the deletion page so we can remove the deletion warning.

Have a good day, and once again thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. ~ ► Wykebjs ◄ (userpage | talk) 16:30, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An article that you created, List of Maltese surnames, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lists of surnames Thank you. SkierRMH 08:50, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know, I have also tagged Maltese Names for deletion. There is nothing wrong with creating a page on Maltese names, it's just that Wikipedia isn't the place for it. Wiktionary.org would be the place. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Thanks, Pan Dan 22:18, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please slow down with the lists

[edit]

I've listed List of Registered Historic Places in Malta for deletion. I'm deleting this because there are already other lists suitable for this (List of forts, for example), as well as severalcategories.

I suggest you find other lists where Maltese things aren't listed, and fill them in accordingly. ~ ► Wykebjs ◄ (userpage | talk) 19:24, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Maltese Names

[edit]

I've nominated Maltese Names, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Maltese Names satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maltese Names and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Maltese Names during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Ramblers' Association of Malta

[edit]

The article Ramblers' Association of Malta has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 12:21, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Proposed deletion of Emilio Lombardi

[edit]

The deletion of an article you created, Emilio Lombardi, has been proposed for the following reason:

Importance and significance of this book is not asserted in this article, and based on some research, could be a hoax.

You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy. You may wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on List of bus routes in Malta requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Tvx1 22:00, 28 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
