in response to your query on my talkpage. Articles about writers need to be supported by multiple references to examples of significant coverage in independent reliable sources. The purpose of this is two-fold: one, to establish that they are notable (is widely written about), and two, to provide independent verification of each and every fact mentioned in an article. Such citations need to be specific to an article in a particular edition of a publication or episode of a series. The test of significance is whether the writer was substantively discussed by the source rather than just being mentioned in passing. Examples which might qualify would be for example book reviews in a broadsheet national newspaper, or a tv program which discussed the significance of the writers work and his contribution to the field.
