F5 or Purge

Contents

Please can you remove Category:Wikipedia extended confirmed users from your userpage, per Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2022 April 1#Category:Wikipedia extended confirmed users, and ping me in the edit summary. Thank you. Qwerfjkltalk 19:35, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Qwerfjkl: thanks for letting me know about the CfD. I removed every mention of the category, but I have no idea why my userpage is still listed in the category after I purged everything. — B. L. I. R. 19:43, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed this by purging the page, to clear its cache. Qwerfjkltalk 19:55, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vevo Micdananggara

[edit]

it's a vevo artist and not a form of promotion please re-add the reference RichardCardey (talk) 07:15, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@RichardCardey: That means every Vevo artist needs to be listed in the article, but not every artist which has a presence through Vevo is notable enough to have his or her own article. Please see #13 of this policy containing what types of external links should be avoided. — B. L. I. R. 07:23, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Referensi

[edit]

how to make a reference [1] RichardCardey (talk) 07:51, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@RichardCardey: That is just the basics. It is recommended to add {{reflist}} for references and {{notelist}} for notes. There are a lot of citation templates to use, and this guide might help you in citing sources correctly. However, since all of your edits are from the mobile site of Wikipedia, your view might look different compared to a regular computer.
Since you are using the mobile version, you click on the pencil (✏️) for the section you want to edit to bring up either the source editor or the visual editor.
If you use the visual editor, click on Cite (on the Malay Wikipedia, click on the icon containing a book (📕) containing a bookmark and select either basic or re-use) and there are three options: automatic, manual, and re-use, and it will guide you from there. Fill in all the relevant information whenever possible.
If you use the source editor, your citations have to be in this format: <ref>insert relevant citation template here</ref>. Again, there are a lot of citation templates to use. Some common ones include {{cite news}} and {{cite web}}. Fill in all the necessary parameters of the citation through the template. Read the documentation for each template. Although the documentation will be long, it will be incredibly useful in the long run. Possible parameters to use are linked here.
As English is not your first language, it might be helpful for you to read the relevant guidelines in your native tongue. I know Indonesian (as I was born in Jakarta), but unfortunately not Malay.
Now, regarding the Vevo artist you mentioned, the user who created the article on the Malay Wikipedia has an obvious conflict of interest because he created an article about himself. Unfortunately, I might file a speedy deletion due to promotion, which is not allowed. Please review these policies since they discuss about why you shouldn't create an article about yourself. Also, there will always be possible bias when editing your own article. The same user, the person you wikiloved, Buku123, according to CentralAuth and contributions, is blocked in multiple wikis and globally locked due to spam. Did you create another account before this? If so, I have no choice but to report you as a potential sock.
Let me know if you have more questions. If I'm not available at the moment, you can also ask the Teahouse. Good luck! — B. L. I. R. 17:56, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, the reference you added to the article was not the real artist's channel. This is the real deal. — B. L. I. R. 18:04, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Trouted

[edit]

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

Uh oh, you accidentally warned yourself — B. L. I. R. 03:29, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging pages for speedy deletion

[edit]

Hello, BeywheelzLetItRip,

Please review WP:CSD, you are making up your own reasons why pages should be deleted. The speedy deletion criteria are very specific and limited. You stated that a draft had been rejected from AFD! AFD is for the deletion of articles, not drafts. I think you met AFC but being rejected from AFC is not a reason for being deleted. You stated another draft should be deleted because it had a name you found funny! This is not a reason to tag a page for CSD G6 deletion. G6 isn't a criteria for whatever you want it to be.

Before you tag any more pages for deletion, please review Criteria for Speedy Deletion thoroughly so you understand the criteria better, what namespaces they apply to and when it is appropriate to tag a page for speedy deletion as opposed to PROD or AFD/MFD/RFD/etc. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:20, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, we don't delete drafts based on "notability" so this is no reason to tag a draft for speedy deletion. Liz Read! Talk! 02:21, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz: I re-read WP:CSD and reviewed WP:PROD, WP:MFD, and WP:NDRAFT after you posted on my talk page. I got a better grasp now. I apologize for the fat finger. Thank you for letting me know about this. — B. L. I. R. 02:42, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Toy Freaks' Elsagate videos

[edit]

Hello, BeywheelzLetItRip Have you ever been uploaded Gregory Chism aka Toy Freaks Elsagate videos that removed from YouTube to Internet Archive (archive.org)? Yuliadhi (talk) 09:10, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Yuliadhi: I do not remember editing the article on Elsagate, nor did I ever upload a file to the Internet Archive. Furthermore, take a look at this: competence is required. Your contributions on talk pages show that you are using them as forums. I had to revert some of your edits because of that. — B. L. I. R. 09:21, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also had no knowledge on Elsagate until about three years ago, so I have no idea what exact content was on Gregory Chism's YouTube channel. — B. L. I. R. 09:25, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
