License tagging for Image:KK1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:KK1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Wikipedia not a gossip column

[edit]

Dear Zora,

I've currently deleted the fact stating that they are either hits or flops. I've just talked about her movies in general. If you go to "Preity Zinta", you can see that even someone has said that "she is currently dating Ness Wadia." The fact that I wrote on Kareena Kapoor in the "personal life" section is true.. not a gossip. PLease do not delete the pictures!!

Kareena Kapoor

[edit]

Hello, BlackDragon, I noticed your contributions to Kareena Kapoor's aricle. I removed most of the pictures, as they are copyvio; also several claims within the article, which were unsourced and some, which were not entirely correct. Maybe you wish to have a look? Kareena Kapoor

[edit]

Hello, Black Dragon,

I noticed your contributions to Kareena Kapoor's article. There are several problems with it:

First, none of the pictures has a correct source information. IndiaFM.com ist a large website; if you don`t provide at least the html-site from which they are, I will mark them as unsourced. As for the article itself:

... and catapulted her into the number one spot.

One could also argue that the number on stpot is occupied by Kajo, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta and newest contender, Priyanka Chopra. That's highly judging and completely impossible to decide, so I suggest it should be cut.

... rave reviews

This is a encyclopaedia, not a filmi magazine. How about: very good reviews?

... and excellent performances in Yuva, Dev, and Fida (her first negative role),

Says who? Please cite sources?

the future was looking bright for her.

Judging. Not neutral.

Her releases 36 China Town and Chup Chup Ke opposite Shahid Kapoor turned out to be successes, despite mixed reviews from the audeince and critics. Omkara, which released in 2006 had Kareena give her best performance to date and silenced the critics, who labelled her as a flop actress
I provided a link to boxofficeindia.com to show that China Towen, CCK and Omkara have all been flops and/or mediocre successes. Comments about her performance are not neutral, and a "flop" actress isn't neutral, either.
Notable Performances

Who marked them as notable? Who decides that they are notable? Wikipedia does not judge, so they have to go.

Either you can change the article or I will do it - the way it currently looks isn't acceptable. Also, please cite sources about her schooling from news agencies or other trustworthy soruces.

Best regards, --Plumcouch Talk2Me 01:45, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey... I've done all the things that User:Plum Couch has told me to do.. by stating the copyright for the images and giving a link for the facts I have given. And by the ways I've only put three images.... which is not a lot. The info I've given is correct and even PLUM COUCH stated that as long I've given a link backup to support my information.. it is okay... . So PLz don't change anything!!!!!

The role from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was considered notable, as she became very popular due to that character.. Although the character in Yuva might not have been big, she was still nominated in the category of best supporting actress for screen weekly awards, so is the one from K3G, as she was nominated in more than 3 award functions. So please don't take out that one. As for the pics, there are only 3 images, u can also see Rani Mukerji's page which actually has 3 images also. So i am following what they have on that page. Kindly stop editing it, as your info is not accurate.

Fair use rationale for Image:Bebo.JPG

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Bebo.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 21:43, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bebo.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Yamla 21:43, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:KareenaK 1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 04:29, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dev11.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dev11.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Edit Summary Request

[edit]

I have noted that you edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! -- Kukini 02:46, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
