Your MyWOT talk page comment

[edit]

Hello BFeely,

I noticed edit you made to the WOT Services talk page. It is a valid observation, and piques my curiosity too. I can't find any evidence that WOT is connected to the company, TOW Software. Yes, TOW is listed as a Helsinki computing-related company by the Finnish business registry, but the page that the article links to does not indicate that TOW has any affiliation to WOT. Both are Finnish, both are in Helsinki and TOW is "WOT" spelled backwards. That isn't sufficient evidence to infer that they are the same company! We are supposed to do that anyway, as it would be WP:SYNTH.

You deleted your comment on the WOT Services WP talk page. That is your choice, but I believe it raised a very relevant question regarding WOT ownership and its status as a going concern. TOW is in the process of being liquidated, but that doesn't mean WOT is too!

I might be bold and remove that section of the article, about WOT becoming TOW. If I do, I will make a comment on the talk page to explain the rationale. If you are still curious about WOT (I am!) you will find some information on the Crunchbase listing for WOT Services. It doesn't identify the current owners of WOT, but it does give a history of the past ownership and rounds of funding that were raised since the company's inception.--FeralOink (talk) 05:07, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
