- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

[edit]Hello, I'm Serols. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Federal Front—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Serols (talk) 12:03, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
Hey there, Serols I want to tell you the fact that the federal front is in fact not a political alliance but rather a proposed alliance. You can read all the articles all of the state the same thing the fact that it is a proposed alliance that has never been recognized by the ECI and in addition, the parties like TRS all are currently solo and are not part of it. This page has been full of speculations and lies and so many more. I am just changing the page to the truth about what happened, why did it fall out, and how KCR is still trying to sell the idea.
Thank You Regards Naren Aviation
- Hello, you are deleting entire sections that were specified with sources and insert a text without specifying any source. That does not work like this. Regards --Serols (talk) 12:17, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at National Democratic Alliance. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. -- DaxServer (talk) 17:44, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Telugu Desam Party, you may be blocked from editing. -- DaxServer (talk) 09:45, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello -- DaxServer, TDP is in fact a centre to a left political party that supports Farmers right and big ten ideology. This in fact was mentioned by CBN himslef. In many interviews, he had mentioned that diversity in the party with people from different religious caste and many more will help the party with ideas. And in addition, even though they are a left-wing party the only reason they teamed up with BJP was the cause of their enemies with INC. And once things with BJP fell out that's the only time they partnered up with INC. That's why I changed it. It is not disruptive editing. It's a correction.
- Hello. You will need to provide citations for that, not the citations to the interview, but citations supporting that TDP is Farmers right party and Big Tent. If no secondary sources support it, you may not add it. Thanks! -- DaxServer (talk) 12:23, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message
[edit]January 2022
[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Venkat TL (talk) 07:02, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

Discretionary Sanctions alert
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Unsourced exit polls
[edit]I have removed exit polls added by you at 2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election since they were not backed by references. If you want to add them again, make sure that the polls are added with proper citation. Dhruv edits (talk) 00:35, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Volten001. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, DC Comics, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Volten001 ☎ 05:47, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
Hi, Regarding the article Razorypay, the correct name of the article is Razorpay. I'll be tagging this article for a speedy deletion. I request you to submit the article again with the correct name that is Razorpay. Let me know if u have any questions. Thanks - Tatupiplu'talk 07:59, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
An article you recently created, Razorypay, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Hello Aviationhub. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Aviationhub. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Aviationhub|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. — DaxServer (t · m · c) 12:01, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Aviationhub. Please answer this before you edit any further, as stated in the message above — DaxServer (t · m · c) 16:25, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

[edit] As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Draft:Bigbasket, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Aviationhub, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Aviationhub|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. scope_creepTalk 05:48, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:
- Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
- State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
- Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
