3RR template usage

[edit]

I noticed that you warned a user who does not appear to be edit warring. Please note that 3RR means more than 3 reverts of the same article in a 24 hour period. Also, a series on uninterrupted edits counts as one edit for the purposes of 3RR. Please don't misuse the 3RR warning template to intimidate other users. If you are having a content dispute with another users, please follow the standard dispute resolution processes. Try to find a compromise wording rather than repeatedly reverting another user's edits yourself. Yworo (talk) 22:50, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at the history. You have both reverted 3 times. If he reverts again, you may report him at WP:3RRN. If you also revert him, I'll be happy to report you in return. It takes two to edit war. Yworo (talk) 23:20, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Until today, past reverts by the other user appear to be at most one per day. That's not 3RR. Yworo (talk) 23:39, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You appear to have reverted 3 times today. At the 3rd revert is when the warning is supposed to be delivered. To prevent you from reverting a 4th time. Yworo (talk) 23:44, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and I just reviewed the 3RR report you filed back in May to get the article protected. It was a false report, as the reverts listed were not all in a 24-hour period. Stop reverting, discuss, and follow dispute resolution. Yworo (talk) 23:54, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You already warned him. Why would I warn him again? If you hadn't already warned him, I certainly would have at his 3rd revert just like I did with you. Yworo (talk) 00:35, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Now he has really broken 3RR and may be reported at WP:3RRN. Yworo (talk) 12:16, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've reported him here if you'd like to add any comments to the report. Yworo (talk) 12:28, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Warning
Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing at Economy of the United Kingdom. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. Yworo (talk) 23:15, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See the result of the 3RR case here. Note that you are mentioned in the closure. It takes two or more people to make a revert war, and your actions can be questioned as well. Neither you nor the other party can point to a talk page consensus in support of your position. Consider opening an WP:RFC to clarify what editors think generally. EdJohnston (talk) 13:37, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Since you went ahead and made a fourth revert at Economy of the United Kingdom after my above warning, you are blocked 24 hours. The previous discussion was at WP:AN3#User:Ledenierhomme reported by Yworo (talk) (Result: 24h). If you believe this block is not justified, add {{unblock|Your reason here}} to your talk page and another admin will review it. EdJohnston (talk) 18:55, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Now don't you feel "like a bit of a twat"? - Ledenierhomme (talk) 02:18, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
