Help desk

[edit]

Why did you remove a question from the help desk, with this edit?  Chzz  ►  16:42, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah - I see now that it was you that asked the question; I assume then that you were just tidying up? No problem; we like to leave the questions there as well as the answer, otherwise the answer doesn't make much sense :-)
I reinstated the question, but if you'd like to remove the personal details from it, that would be fine.
For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
Best wishes,  Chzz  ►  16:48, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicts of interest

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Wikipedia:Help desk, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:31, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Still having problems

[edit]

I am still having a difficult time submitting my photo. I followed the guidelines and went to photo submission and emailed them yet the changes do not appear. Am I suppose to email through this site? if so, how do I go about doing that? I do not see an email section here where I can upload my picture. Please help, thanks.-Attentionsports —Preceding unsigned comment added by Attentionsports (talkcontribs) 02:07, 30 July 2009

What page did you go to? Files are not to be e-mailed; they are uploaded according to the instructions. By the way: 1) new posts go at the bottom of the page; if you click "New Section" when editing this page, the new section is given a header and automatically put at the bottom of the page; 2) Don't forget to sign your post properly by clicking the signature button on the edit bar above. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:49, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
