- Air: Kannur International Airport is the closest airport, approximately 36 km away. Calicut International Airport is approximately 65 km away.
- Road: National Highway 66 (NH66) passes through Vatakara, connecting Vatakara to Kozhikode to the south (35 km) and to Kannur (44 km) and Mangalore (212 km) to the north. A preliminary survey is being performed for a National Highway to connect to Bangalore through Nadapuram[citation needed].
