Disambiguation link notification for December 14

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Superville, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Daniel de Superville (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:08, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I recently noticed you modified my talk page not only to remove the CSD request which I now understand is not needed, but also you added content that I previously removed from my talk page (a self-welcome message for testing purposes). Please do not do this again and refrain from adding (and removing) content from users' talk pages without proper clear motive and consent from the user except in rare instances where it is not possible to do so.

Rabbits

Hi, Athaenara. I was interested to see this edit summary. A friend always says "white rabbits" first thing every month (a tradition he inherited from his mother). I've also adopted the practice, but I never knew of anyone else who did it (other than, I believe, Gilda Radner). It's nice to know that we belong to the same club. Happy new year, and, of course, white rabbits! MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 02:09, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Mandarax: My mother's side of the family knew it as Rabbit Rabbit! and I didn't know of a white rabbits version. If my father's side of the family did anything similar, he never said. I developed the notion that it was best of all to remember and say it on the first day of the year for extra good big long-lasting luck and I'm happy not to outgrow it :) – Athaenara 04:56, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Bourne Supremacy

Hi there,

I think your protection of The Bourne Supremacy (film) is unnecessary, and a little over-bearing. A look at the article history shows that you made a change to "babe" on 10th August, which was reverted by an IP editor - albeit without edit summary. You then went against BRD and reverted again by reinserting "babe" over "Pam", which was itself reverted again by El Junglas. You once again reverted, only to have the original version re-instated by another IP editor.

You then protected the page to prevent any IP changes. Whilst I wouldn't go as far as to say this was a bad faith protection, I certainly think you should have engaged on the talk page before protecting the article - three reverts in no way counts as "Persistent disruptive editing" - especially when they were by different editors, and prompted by you in the first place.

So, please lift protection, as I don't think it's warranted, and could be misconstrued as admin abuse - ie protecting a page to get your way. Chaheel Riens (talk) 10:54, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of noticeboard discussion

in re: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive323#ECP on The Bourne Supremacy (film)

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Chaheel Riens (talk) 11:04, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have closed the AN discussion. You inappropriately used extended confirmed protection to prevent IP editors reverting your inaccurate original research. You need to read the policies on page protection before using those tools again and you need to avoid taking administrative actions when you are involved in a content dispute (barring exceptions like BLP). Fences&Windows 23:34, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Later

The Wikipedia way is not about what's true, it's about what's agreed to be a communally acceptable representation of what's true, whether or not the representation is itself true.

Heard the line again tonight, on USA channel: not "Pam" but "babe". – Athaenara 03:25, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But the "communally acceptable representation" as witnessed on the AN noticeboard and the talk page is clearly that the word is "Pam" - and you're still ignoring the fact that you abused Admin tools in an attempt to force your viewpoint. Chaheel Riens (talk) 07:09, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Was posting a new thread at AN... I had noticed at the bottom that Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Shamim1190 was added as a category there. I see that you had created that category, but I don't believe it's supposed to be a category on the noticeboard :P Magitroopa (talk) 23:51, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Magitroopa: That's baffling, I can't figure out where any of the categories that page is in were added, some behind the scenes template where someone snuck it in? – Athaenara 00:08, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I found it somewhere and fixed it, there is probably the same error somewhere else, we just don't know where yet. – Athaenara 00:11, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Another one and that fixed it: when a category is linked without the ":" after the first two square brackets it puts the page in that category. – Athaenara 00:13, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just a minor note

For something that will likely never happen again, but it's interesting enough that I thought I should mention it. When you salted Draft:Shahjahan Shamim you linked to Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Shamim1190 but called it without the leading :, which meant that User:AnomieBOT/EPERTable and every page that calls it ended up in that category. I fixed the issue but I thought you might want to know for future reference (always use [[:Category... if you are linking to a cat. Cheers, Primefac (talk) 14:13, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Could I ask for feedback on Ma Ceres P. Doyo‎?

in re: Maria Ceres Doyo (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), Draft:Ma Ceres P. Doyo‎ (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Sorry to bother you, but I don't feel I'm getting specific enough feedback on Draft talk:Ma Ceres P. Doyo‎ and on my talk page. Any chance you could step in and advise, so that I don't have to just receive condescension from the editor who turned the article into a draft? Thanks. - MoxiePH (talk) 17:18, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It was tagged for deletion when it was in article space. Somebody decided it deserved more time and attention and moved it to draft space. I'm not involved in it, nor will I be. – Athaenara 17:48, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism on Jakarta MRT

Hi Athaenara, thank you for reverting the edit from an anonymous user on my talk page. By the way, that anonymous user lately recorded on two IP addresses (139.192.129.201 and 111.95.147.78‎) and persistently doing vandalism on Jakarta MRT, saying that the East-West line (on its two sections on the page) will use standard gauge rail network while actually there are no sources in Indonesia nor the world says so. Even the Jakarta MRT company itself hasn't says anything about the track gauge they'll use. It's the reason why I keep reverting although I know he/she will revert it back when he/she realizes. The material also not citing any sources on the internet. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, thus the material he/she edited can be challenged. I already put a warning inside the article but I think it's not enough, so I'm wondering if I could get any help from you regarding this vandalism. Thank you. -Muhammad Pascal Fajrin (talk) 08:47, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can't do that. Copyright and attribution problems would ensue, so all actions must remain in the contribution history. The exception is when an article has been deleted, or when grossly insulting and BLP violations are scrubbed. -- Valjean (talk) 17:47, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted user

Dear Athaenara, Pirhayati account, which you deleted, recreated his account. This user deserves to be removed for violating Wikipedia rules. The 3 pages he has recently created (Tofan Pirani, Hamid Reza Hejazi and Keyvan Dehnad), based on WP:PAID. Also in Persian Wikipedia, Tofan Pirani deleted 4 times by WP:N and Keyvan Dehnad just nominated for deletion by a admin. Please block this user to protect sports Wikipedia. Sincerely. MMA Kid (talk) 03:32, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MMA Kid: I've never deleted any user account. I deleted an earlier version of the user page, which is a different matter. As to the sports pages or nominations for deletion, I haven't the knowledge or expertise to involve myself in such matters. – Athaenara 04:04, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your kindly response. Best regards. MMA Kid (talk) 04:12, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Athaenara, I already added deletion tag, but he removed it multiple times. This is against the rules of WP:DP. Regards. MMA Kid (talk) 04:26, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm having doubts this deletion of the user page was really appropriate. I obviously can't see what the page was like before the deletion but an old version I could find elsewhere definitely does not constitute "blatant misuse of Wikipedia as a web host", and I wonder if you deleted it thinking the request was U1 or G7 instead of U5. The page now has another request and you may want to review it too. Thanks. Nardog (talk) 04:41, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Nardog: Undeleted. I think it was the inclusion of his own website URL that convinced me at the time, but I'll stay out of it. – Athaenara 06:14, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
MMA Kid has been blocked as a sockpuppet which leads me to guess that there is a probably a dispute history between editors and this wasn't a good faith request. Liz Read! Talk! 00:50, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Athaenara. I checked the Google cache of Jingkids International, That's Beijing, and The Beijinger, and concluded that they do not meet WP:G11. Please restore these articles. Jingkids International and That's Beijing do not have any promotional content. The Beijinger has some promotional content but it does not meet WP:G11 since the clause "exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to serve as encyclopedia articles" does not apply as the limited amount of promotional content can be removed. I did not find a Google cache for True Run Media but based on your deletion log summary, it likely meets the criteria. Thanks, Cunard (talk) 08:21, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I previously discussed your June 2020 G11 speedy deletion of Skyhorse Publishing with you here. You declined to undelete the article and I took it to Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2020 June 25#Skyhorse Publishing where the community overturned the speedy deletion. The articles I listed here (Jingkids International, That's Beijing, and The Beijinger) do not meet the G11 speedy deletion criteria. Please do not speedy delete articles that do not meet the criteria. Cunard (talk) 08:52, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not assuming good faith in edit summaries

Hi there, just to let you know that your edit summary of "some vandal switched cold and warm air: it's an inversion when warm air, which normally rises, is trapped beneath stagnant cold air, which normally sinks" on Great Smog of London was poor faith, and inaccurate. Checking the article history shows that that error has always been there - right back to the article's inception here from 12:17h 20 September 2009:

"On Thursday 4th December 1952, an anticyclone settled over a windless London causing a temperature inversion with very cold, stagnant air trapped under a layer (or "lid") of warm air."

Whilst your edit was correct, this isn't the first occasion where you've declared your changes to be reverting vandalism when that isn't the case. Fortunately this time it hasn't affected any other editors, but please take more care in both edits and assumptions, thanks. Chaheel Riens (talk) 17:11, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I understand "the article's inception" to be the first edit which created the page. That 00:15, 12 August 2003 edit included, "air pollution was trapped by the heavy layer of cold air", which is correct. It was not contradicted until nearly six years later, when an edit timestamped 12:58, 21 June 2009 introduced "cold, stagnant air becoming trapped under a layer (or "lid") of warm air". – Athaenara 18:40, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies - for some reason The first edit in the article history came up as the one I linked to. Nevertheless - you are avoiding the issue at hand that you made presumptions in your edit summary. Funnily enough, this is what you did last time as well - ignored the reason for contacting you, and fixated on something else to appear blameless. Chaheel Riens (talk) 19:16, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
