Importing article histories

[edit]

Hi, regarding the issue of importing article histories, which you raised at River Gambia National Park, please see the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Importing article histories. Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to import full article histories, so {{translated}} seems to be the best available means of attribution. However, I have also made a dummy edit (see here) so as to list the contributors in the edit summary. –Black Falcon (Talk) 16:47, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Interestingly I'm actually currently stubbing some of the national park and forest reserves articles which looks notable to me. If you are interested I started Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Protected areas task force today. If you do any work on english wikipedia you're more than welcome to join and help trasnalte those german articles on the reserves from gambia into english!! It is listed in the national parks database so it is verifiable. The Bald One White cat 20:23, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It will need to be checked otherwise deleted. Its probably best to stick to the ones that have articles on german wikipedia seems as you seem so much of an authority on The Gambia. Congrats on your work on deutsch wiki BTW, We need editors like you on english wikipedia to develop Africa. But given that I have done a huge amount of work here, occassionally I make mistakes given the content of work I do and don't need being reminded in edit summaries, or discouraged from improving coverage in this area. Bamba Forest Park is revealed here. However there isn't any online information which could be used to expand it. There are some red linked in the template which you haven't started on german wiki. For now it would probably be best to just start the ones you are familiar with. Might I ask why you have such an astonishing interest in Gambia? All that work by yourself on German wiki is quite something I have to say The Bald One White cat 21:30, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the area is the Nymbai Forest Park. --Atamari (talk) 21:38, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is a Habitat/Species Management Area not a national park. It is a recognized protected habitat/forest area by the IUCN and UNEP . If for some reason you think it is incorrect please change it The Bald One White cat 11:08, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If i wanted your opinion I would have asked for one. All you do is criticise and ridicule other peoples work. Not only have you tried to convey that my work is based on original research and grossly inaccurate or "not good" but you have also implied that UNEP and other institutions which register these parks as redundant also. Tagging

[edit]

To tag articles for african parks please add the documentation as below, adding "parea=yes" to the Africa template to tag articles for this task force and for whatever country it is in:

{{AfricaProject|class=?|importance=?|country=yes|country-importance=?|parea=yes}}
{{Messagebox protected areas}}

Remember to replace "country" with the name of the appropriate country.

All you were doing wrong is missing out the new parea=yes and the underneath general project. Cheers! The Bald One White cat 21:03, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
