Thank you for the warm welcome. Are talk pages mostly the only way to leave messages? What would be the appropriate way to send smaller comments like this one, for example to Jonathunder? Would I just ping him as well? @Paul2520: @Jonathunder:

Hi Astutely Absurd! For some reason, I didn't get a notification about this ping, but yes, that typically works. I often use {{u|username here}} or {{reply to|username here}}. Users also get a notification if you write on their talk page (and it's best to click "New section" when doing so). Cheers! = paul2520 (talk) 23:55, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Commons: Picture of the Year 2018

[edit]

Hi Astutely Absurd! You may have seen the banner ads about the Wikimedia Commons: Picture of the Year 2018 contest. You need more than 75 edits before January 1, 2019 to vote, but anyone can peruse the photos & there are some phenomenal shots. And the 75 edit minimum is something to strive for this year, to be eligible to vote next year :-) = paul2520 (talk) 14:09, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You

Mia Native American Artists Edit-a-Thon

Hello Astutely Absurd. You are invited to attend a Native American Artists edit-a-thon at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 11am to 4pm. In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, join in honoring Native American artists whose work is represented in Mia's collections by creating or enhancing Wikipedia articles.

I hope to see you there, Astutely Absurd! = paul2520 (talk) 23:26, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
