Arial in Windows

As mentioned at Talk:Arial#Unverified claims and other issues, no reliable sources have yet been found for the assertion that Microsoft made a choice between Arial and Helvetica for inclusion in Windows, or that Microsoft chose Arial because it was cheaper. It's a plausible theory, and it has been widely repeated by people with an apparent anti-Arial agenda, but until an authoritative source can be found, we have to regard it as speculation and folklore. —mjb (talk) 07:41, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
