I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

Getting the articles just right can be tricky - but there are lots of people to ask!

If you have any questions, just click on the Contact Me link after my signature at the end of this section. Alternatively, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question.

By the way, when you are writing on a discussion page (or someone's talk page), it is considered good manners to sign your comment... to do this, just add ~~~~ at the end of your comment. That will put your user name (AssetControl) and the date/time at the end (or you can click on the icon when you are editing. Never sign on an article page - only on a discussion page.

I am now going to add my signature, using ~~~~:-- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 23:15, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your article Asset Control

[edit]

Your article is actually on your User page (see here).

However, if you were to have created it on the main encylopedia, I fear that it would have been speedily deleted using what we call "G11": Unambiguous advertising or promotion. Pages that exclusively promote some entity and that would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic.

Please read the guidelines linked to in my welcome above - they may help you to work out how to rewrite your article.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to assist in this, as I have real-life commitments which will prevent me doing much work on wikipedia for the next week.

Just one word of warning: Do not move this to the main article space - as it stands, the article would not be accepted. May I suggest you read WikiSpam?

Promotional articles are not OK in userspace either, hence the tagging for speedy deletion. – ukexpat (talk) 01:58, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:AssetControl, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 01:52, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group or organization, I have blocked this account; please create a new account. You may ask for a review of this username block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message, or you can email me by clicking on "E-mail this user" on my talk page, and I'll respond on my talk page.
