License tagging for Image:NewTown1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NewTown1.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:06, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NewTown.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image tagging

[edit]

Please state in the image page the cipyright status, as requested above. If you have taken the images, its rather easy. You can release the image under Creative Commons or GFDL licenses. Howwever, please specify. Otherwise the images will be deleted. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 10:59, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cutting and pasting from other sources

[edit]
  1. Regarding your recent edits to India and weapons of mass destruction: please do not cut and paste material from other sources, unless you can demonstrate that you are the copyright owner of the original, or that the original work is in the public domain, or explicitly licenced under the GFDL by its copyright owner. Please see Wikipedia's copyright policy for more information on this. -- Karada 07:34, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  2. The same also applies to your edits to Surya (missile), whose text is identical to part of this web page. Please don't cut and paste from other sources without permission: doing so is against Wikipedia's rules. -- Karada 07:40, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions to the India article, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:16-s.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 12:11, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PAK FA picture

[edit]

Is it just me, or is that an F-22 with Russian markings? If you created the image, what did you base it on? WP:RS and WP:NOR are still relevant...

(Adding a bit more) Yes, the empennage is a little different, the engine thrust nozzling is a lot more exposed, and it looks like a direct copy of the opening frames of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f10M0NOOTnY which is a compilation of various ideas and planforms suggested for the PAK FA.

It's a nice picture, but does it add anything to the article?Somedumbyankee (talk) 01:53, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
