Some guidance
[edit]Hi Aryan790, you are new here and there is a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia. A couple of notes, typically BLOGS are not considered reliable sources. In addition, you should never copy and paste content from sources to Wikipedia as it most likely will violate United States copyright laws, which are quite complex to be honest. I hope this does not discourage you from editing as you are trying in good faith to make positive contributions. You are simply new and it takes some time to learn various Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Please read through the material in the welcome message. I also highly recommend the Wikipedia Adventure which is an interactive tutorial. If you have questions, you can post them at the Teahouse where experienced editors are available to help out. Best of luck! S0091 (talk) 19:08, 21 December 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm S0091. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Kumaoni language, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. S0091 (talk) 19:27, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
Avoiding an edit war
[edit]Hi Aryan790, the following message was previously added to your user talk page by Bonadea. It is correct and still applies.
Since you seem to have ignored the message, I would have blocked you from making further contributions if the situation had been more clearly against your favor. However, as the dispute mainly seemed to involve two editors, and as both editors seem to have edit warred, I had decided not to take administrative action for now.
In the meantime, multiple editors have expressed their disagreement about your removal. Please have a look at the following links:
The following message is now very important. It may be your final warning.
You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Kumaoni language. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page, Talk:Kumaoni language.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges.
There are two ways for you to deal with this situation:
- Ignore the issue, or
- discuss it at Talk:Kumaoni language.
There are no other options. Repeatedly reverting other editors' contributions will cause you to be blocked from editing, without further warning.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this message. Please let me know if you have questions, or feel free to ask for independent help at the Teahouse.
Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 02:30, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
