Thanks for uploading Image:Sohail_Rana_with_Ahmed_Rushdi.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:38, 1 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Mangostar (talk) 22:38, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:Vaneeza Ahmad selected as the Olympics torch bearer.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.flickr.com/photos/amehmood/2424274783/. As a copyright violation, Image:Vaneeza Ahmad selected as the Olympics torch bearer.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:Vaneeza Ahmad selected as the Olympics torch bearer.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at [[Talk:Image:Vaneeza Ahmad selected as the Olympics torch bearer.jpg]] and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at [[Talk:Image:Vaneeza Ahmad selected as the Olympics torch bearer.jpg]] with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on [[Talk:Image:Vaneeza Ahmad selected as the Olympics torch bearer.jpg]].

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. HaeB (talk) 18:08, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Uploading images taken in a previous life?

You claim to have taken this image yourself in 1983, but on your user page you state that you were born in 1984.

I hope you understand that this raises severe doubts about the truthfulness of your claims, which is why I have nominated the image for deletion. Regards, HaeB (talk) 18:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I regret my mistake. I wasn't surely aware of the area of the non-free fair use rationale that would appear to this particular instance. The upload form merely comes up with the field and I left it unchanged as I began searching for the relevance of debate for tagging this image with a FU rationale.
Knowing that it can not be addressed, even I strongly would go for its deletion. Even though this image had been in my possession for a long time, I believe the provision its source data might not be available. I did not create the image myself rather uploaded it from a personal collection. I wouldn't vote for keeping it. Arun Reginald (talk · contribs) 18:41, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Can we add a 'to do' list to the Noor Jehan article

Hey Arun, Can you please add a to do list on the Noor Jehan article discussion page and then add some sort of template to the main page referring to the to do list. Is there a specific template that I should use to make the to do list (in which case you are making the to do list) or should I just make the to do list under a new heading sort of thing. Thanks already for the favour :) SholeemGriffin (talk) 21:08, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Just add {{to do}} on the talk page and then create the list from the given link. The todo list is usually made as Article/to do, so all todo entries go on that page. Arun Reginald (talk · contribs) 21:13, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Arey yaar, I don't even get it. I am playing around with it but abhi I am gonna come back and tell you that I can't do it. Just wait and watch. SholeemGriffin (talk) 21:17, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok I did manage to figure it out. Magar thanks. SholeemGriffin (talk) 21:32, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

What pillow-fight? :) Arun Reginald (talk · contribs) 21:58, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

I am deleting the trivia section. It's so rubbish. Just random gossip stuff. Controversies section bana hai kiya? SholeemGriffin (talk) 22:15, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Yaar meiney woh section delete kar diya hai. It was about a pillow fight to make Rizvi jealous. Hehehe. History check karlo :P SholeemGriffin (talk) 22:18, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you :) SholeemGriffin (talk) 22:32, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

CONTROVERSIES ka section banana hai kiya? Woh pillow fight bhi daal dein ge. :P Hehehe. It's funny. Ous article ki tou bas abh mein angrezi sahi karoun gi aur sourcing...jaldi wali. Aur kuch millay ga tou discusion page pe choor doungi. It's done my head in. Mess of an article. Alas, can't put it on DYK. I have reduced the article by more than 5 fold jabakay I had to do the opposite. LOL SholeemGriffin (talk) 01:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:HAU, Status, and you!

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 23:03, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations

On two more DYKs! SholeemGriffin (talk) 19:03, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I-post

Email to Postal Mail

A convenient free postal mail service which can deliver email messages all over Pakistan. Peoples can now use their email to send letters giving you another route to communicate with others who are not connected to the Internet in Pakistan.

In recent past Internet and e-mail have revolutionized the world of communications. But those who do not have easy access to Internet and e-mail facilities could not get benefits of this facility. In its endeavour to make the benefits of e-mail available to a common man, Al Tayyeb Group has introduced i-post service. By i-post all those who do not have computer or do not have access to Internet can send e-mail by Post Office or receive e-mail through a postman. Those who have access to Internet can also send i-post to those who do not have access to Internet.

Wikipedia should have an article on this social service & must be a part of WikiProject Pakistan. Please comments. --SaqibChaudhry (talk) 07:11, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
