Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. According to MOS:HEADINGS ,section-headings go in sentence-case (only first word capitalized), not title-case (every major word capitalized). DMacks (talk) 08:23, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dmacks

sorry, I am new to Wikipedia and I was not aware of the Manual of Style. I will make sure I follow the appearance guidelines in future. Thanks for the feedback. Arun

A tag has been placed on Cursor Controls Ltd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.cursorcontrols.com/about/history/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Cursor Controls Ltd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

advice

[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I had to delete the page. If you want to try again, do it as a Draft, making sure to declare the conflict of interest. In writing it,

  1. . Do not copy or closely paraphrase material from the firm's website. It's specifically against one of our most basic rules, WP:COPYVIO (It's possible to have the firm donate material by the full formal procedure specified there, but it would have to be under a free license, which permits anyone in the world to reuse and modify it for any purpose, even for commercial use. Companies are usually reluctant to do that. And in any case, much of it is not suitable.
  2. Do not use terms of praise, or make judgement about how important the firm or its products. Just state the facts of what it has done which is likely to be of general interest, This normally does not includemeeting its own milestones or internal rearrangements, or giving reasons that praise its accomplishments.
  3. Focus on the trackball. There might be potential for an article because of it . DGG ( talk ) 17:56, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
