Sleep neuroscience
[edit]Hi Arual,
My apologies, I didn't see the message you left me until just now. Coincidentally, I just made a couple edits a few days ago to the Sleep page. My main interest is in the research the past few years into the restorative aspect of sleep, what exactly is being restored (brain chemistry seems to be the answer, in general), and the indication that this seems to be the main function (or purpose) of sleep. To me, the large article on sleep is so broad, it covers so many aspects of sleep, but it doesn't reflect the recent research that indicates one true purpose. I avoided editing the intro so far, but I think the intro should state the main purpose of sleep.
As an analogy, it would be as if the automobile article said that cars are status symbols that people sometimes sit and talk in, and oh, by the way, they are used for transport.
All the best, Jaywilson (talk) 22:08, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
