Userboxes (on Unisouth's user page)
Haven't you gone a bit over the top with the userboxes on your user page?! Is this many really necessary. Think of the poor people without broadband yet. Also, were you the same "Unisouth" that got banned from the "Uni-link" passenger forum? As I did too, for no reason whatsoever. Arriva436 17:38, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- I have broadband so I dont care how many userboxes are on my page. Most users of wikipedia have way more userboxes than me. Also I created the Uni-link article on here. Yes I am the Unisouth that got banned from uni-links forum. Unisouth 08:46, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thats OK. Sorry about the above I thought it was one of that forums members trying to get at me again. Unisouth 16:26, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'll take the userbox comment back, I've got loads now!! Uni-link forum's closed too! 16:10, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- I know that this isn't what this page is for, but the news article (on Uni-link's site) above the one about the forum closing was one about the RSS feed being reintroduced, by popular demand...on the forum...! Arriva436 20:43, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- Shame the forums gone as it was a very good way of getting travel concerns through. The booklet has returned thanks to it! I liked wikignomes comments, he was good on it. Unisouth 17:29, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- While the forum on the uni-link website is down. I have started a board on my own forum (no members yet) for it. Please take a look! Unisouth 20:36, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your modifications to this article. I started it in a hurry so I forgot where it was being launched. Judging by the CGI pictures, this bus will be one of the best looking buses ever seen this century! Unisouth 08:10, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- No problem about editing the Optare Versa article. I've added to the Wright Electrocity too. Arriva436 11:06, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
2007 National Express coach crash
Hi there. Am I correct in saying that you made the section the coaches themselves on the article 2007 National Express coach crash. Well I've deleted that section as their is a template on the top of the page saying about some of the articles importance. The section you created has no relevance to the actual crash itself so I've reverted it. Thanks for your understanding. Respectfully Tellyaddict Talk 15:04 13 January 2007 (UTC)
User talk:Web kai2000/List of all London Buses
Why are some of the routes striked out? Arriva436 17:56, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- This is my list of articles that need to either be created or updated. Once i've done it, I strike it off my list. If you want to see all buses that run in London, see List of bus routes in London. sonicKAI 13:25, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for telling me what they were. Arriva436 16:15, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Bullocks
A very immature person keeps reposting this load of Bullocks. If it simply makes you groan - fair enough. If you wanted to sort out fict from faction and create a proper article, that would be great. (Normally I would have emailed the text but you have not got email enabled - hence the strange delivery method.) RHaworth 19:01, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Your userboxes
Hi I noticed your userboxes on buses, you know how you have the images of buses and they have room for a caption, well I was just wondering, would you like me to change that so it just displays the image and not the area to write a caption? Please reply on my talk page.
There all done, all you need to do is take the thumb bit out of the Image code and you wont get that box around them. Have fun editing Wikipedia! Thanks for the comments about my signature, there appreciated. Tellyaddict 16:47, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- Excellent, thanks for that!! It was very kind of you Arriva436 17:03, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
"I need a WikiProject ELCB!"
I have recently edited this article to create a less confusing list of product names, as they are so confusing. However, some of the separate product articles are still incorrect. I will be working over the next few months to correct these. For one, there is no "OmniTown" chassis. Really, I need a "WikiProject ELCB"! Arriva436 17:50, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Do you think there should be a WP ELCB? After all we need to seriously improve the quality of ELCB articles but it will be hard because, as you know, the products are really confusing! So the articles need people who understands the naming system. Like me and you perhapps? Unisouth 08:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Further to the topic you brought up on my talk page. Yes, I think it would be quite a good idea, with the current state of the articles. I recently changed one article. One had the fact that the OmniTown was not a chassis, while the OmniTown article said it was! However, I have no idea how to start a WikiProject, so if we were to create one, you would have to start it! Arriva436 19:41, 24th January 2007 (UTC)
- Here is a link to the new WikiProject ELCB page! It is not quite finished but I think it is alright. Please take a look! Unisouth 10:45, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for setting it up. As I am quite busy at the moment I will start on Saturday. Arriva436 19:17, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
WP:ELCB Template
If anyone can get the template below to the top of the page, please do so. Help would be greatly appreciated! Unisouth, I have created "Template:WP ELCB|this template" (now this template: Template:WP Darwen Holdings) and put it on all the East Lancs articles, but I can't get it to stay at the top of this page of the main East Lancs talk page. Also, please feel free to improve it, I made a very basic one. (Now moved up) Arriva 436 18:57, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have fixed the template, you forgot to 'finish' it by putting |} at the end. I have place it on the main East Lancs page and it looks fine. Thanks for making it! Unisouth 21:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Labrador userbox
Further to your userbox:
This user loves labradors. |
It has come to mind that rather than having it written as all this:

I wondered whether you would like me to help you make it more like this:
, so that is doen't have all the messy table things on everybody's user page. Please reply on my talk page Arriva 436
- Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the offer, I would really like your help on how to make userboxes less messy. Is that something called making a sub-user page? I'm still fairly new to Wikipedia. Cheers, Rougeblossom 21:00, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, you were right, you do have to create a user-sub page. In case you don't know how to do this, I'll tell you:
- First, edit you userpage to created a Wikilink (internal link) to the user sub page
- I would recommend you call it User:Rougelblossom/LabRetUBox, or something along those lines.
- Then save the page.
- Click on the broken link.
- Create the user sub page.
- Copy this onto it:
- Yes, you were right, you do have to create a user-sub page. In case you don't know how to do this, I'll tell you:
-
- Save the page, and your userbox should appear. If not, tell me.
- Then, put on your userpage.
- To stop the subpage link being out of place on your user page, you can either delete the link (but then you'll never be able to click to get to the subpage), or you could crete a section on your userpage called, say, ==My userbox templates==. If anyting doesn't work, please tell me, it's a pleasure to help you on Wikipedia. Arriva 436 18:27, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, also, you should only make the user sub pages for userboxes you make. You don't have to do it with everyone's on your userpage. Then when you change it, everybody else can just put EXAMPLE on thier userpage. Arriva 436 08:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Awesome! It worked! Thanks for explaining it to me. It's a lot less complicated than I thought. Hope you have a good weekend! Rougeblossom 22:46, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
The test userbox
I was just wondering - if a reader can't see your test userbox, how are they supposed to know that they've got to inform you? Jeya Vaishnavi 14:57, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Don't worry, it's not a test userbox! It's just like any other userbox, but really is a joke! And don't feel stupid about wondering - when I was new I copied and pasted the parts of the "Please leave a new message" box at the top of (old version of) my userpage, I forgot to change the link to the other person's talk page - and then tested it! Ooops! Also look out for the trick "You have new messages" boxes. If you need any help you can ask me! Arriva436 20:08, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Arriva436, Thank you for warning me about that "You have new messages" trick, it might be helpful and thank you for your offer to help - I sure am going to need it and thanks for the post - I now have a talkpage. By the way, I like your userboxes, including the test userbox and don't worry about the Wikipedia award - they might give you one for having so many userboxes (just kidding). Jeya Vaishnavi 12:39, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and there are some "You have been blocked from editing" tricks too! People have been trying to take them off userpages, but as some people have reverted edits for, this is against a Wikipedia rule! Arriva 436 17:15, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- Arriva436, your post has cleared a doubt in my head because I had been tricked recently - I was seemingly blocked from editing Wikipedia but could not find the block in any list. Thanks again. Jeya Vaishnavi 07:53, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
A query
Am I right in thinking that East Lancs also build the Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bus? You seem to know alot about busses so I thought I would ask you, cheers, 1B6 09:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 is not built by East Lancashire Coachbuilders, but by Alexander Dennis. I hope that helps -- Arriva 436 17:27, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- The last time I was on an Enviro400, it had the East Lancs Logo on it, weird? all the best, 1B6 10:57, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
East Lancs bus template
I have made this infobox for use on East Lancs bus articles, and have put it on the Esteem and Olympus articles. However, some aspects of it don't work and display (example) "{passenger capacity}" instead of "33 to 60", when the other specification information displays properly. I cannot see the difference in the code to make the infobox between ones that work and ones that don't. So if someone can fix them, it would be brilliant. All the information I wanted to put up is there, but doesn't want to display. Arriva436 14:43, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed! It was just a few coding and spelling errors. Unisouth 11:04, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing the infobox, but the one on the East Lancs Olympus is still causing a bit of trouble!!! Arriva 436 13:26, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed also! Unisouth 16:59, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing that too! Arriva 436 18:05, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
The owners were considering moving all of the attractions at Blackgang Chine to Robin Hill, as the continuing erosion is not leaving much room, and the parts closest to the cliff cannot be moved further away. However it has been decided to phase out the children's attractions, and aim for a more adult-orientated heritage centre.
I don't doubt it, but do you have a published source for this? Tearlach 21:36, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, not now, no. You see, I remember reading it somewhere a few years or so ago. But as the decision has been made to "phase out the children's attractions" (this was already in the article), there is not really any published sources for this that I have, so you are welcome to revert my edit! This article is not one a regularly edit, but most of my family live on the Isle of Wight you see. Thank you! Arriva 436 20:10, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Bierley appears to be on a bus route. I am not sure about Puckaster. Filll 21:59, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes thanks for informing me on that. It is on route 6 and I have now added that to the article. A search on Traveline reveals apparently no bus service to Puckaster. Arriva436 18:50, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I have tagged the history section as dubious as the only reference to "Julian Osbourne" that Google can find is Wikipedia or its mirrors. I will delete the section in mid January if a citation is not provided by then. John Maynard Friedman (talk) 17:50, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- I know it was something like that and it said in BUSES magazine a few months ago, but delete it if you want, I don't mind. Arriva436talk 15:54, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'll take off the dubious tag. If you could possibly find which issue of BUSSES mag had it, that would be an ideal cite. John Maynard Friedman (talk) 13:19, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- Former owner and MD of MK Metro was Julian PEDDLE.86.133.175.240 (talk) 21:48, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, there was a whole article about the company a while ago Arriva436talk 12:49, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Spelling
User pages are not that important but surely, since you list a code to show that you have changed the spelling in an article, your user page should demonstrate orthography. Google's ABC Check which at the moment finds more than its limit of 100 seems to be able to add words to its dictionary (for example: names of places) so that after turning it off and a refresh of Preview the checking gets further into the edit.--SilasW (talk) 20:27, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- I have had a look and corrected a few mistakes. However, the other "mistakes" are all either because of the Wikipedia formatting codes, or because Google ABC doesn't recognise the names of bus types or bus companies, which I mostly edit on!
- Thank you. Arriva436 (talk) 09:45, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
That is the first archive of my talk page done then! Arriva436talk 18:12, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
