Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Royal flags of Thailand into List of Thai flags. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 03:39, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sodacan. I noticed that you recently removed content from Death and funeral of Bhumibol Adulyadej without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. Infobox family

SVG maps

[edit]

While SVG format is generally preferred for maps, there's a long-standing bug that results in rather ugly text in the server-rendered thumbnails. I assume that's why the original contributors chose to place the png exports in the articles instead. --Paul_012 (talk) 06:23, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Birth date of Borommakot?

Hello fellow Wikipedian,

T-Pop Stage moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, T-Pop Stage, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Notice

The article List of prime ministers of Thailand by date of death has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is not an important characteristic of these prime ministers as a group, and not a notable subject for a list.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 14:04, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of presidents of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Legislative Assembly of Thailand. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your change from Bangkok to Bangkok, Krung Thep

[edit]

Could you please explain the reasoning behind your change from Bangkok to Bangkok, Krung Thep? Aithus (talk) 09:26, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Krung Thep is a Monthon (Country) during 1897-1933 include Bangkok metropolitan provinces today. And Bangkok or Changwat Phra Nakhon is part of Monthon Krung Thep. Armonthap (talk) 09:49, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I think you might want to say Changwat Phra Nakhon, Krung Thep instead of Bangkok, Krung Thep? Because people are going to get very confused like me when they see "Bangkok" instead of historic "Changwat Phra Nakhon". Aithus (talk) 10:02, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your wish to add historical information to place names, but you might want to avoid inserting historical inaccuracy in doing so. For example, this edit asserts that the birth place is within Phra Nakhon district, but the district was created in 1928. Nevertheless, I am thankful for your edits that made me want to learn more about evolution of our place names. Aithus (talk) 10:04, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, A modern Phra Nakhon district was created in 1928, but historic Phra Nakhon district was created in 1865, 1915 Phra Nakhon district is divided into 4 districts (Chana Songkhram, Phra Ratchawang, Samran Rat, Phahurat). Armonthap (talk) 11:28, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. The en-wiki article lacked these details. I just looked at th-wiki article and your explanation became clear. Aithus (talk) 11:40, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adding portals to the portal bar of Thai royals

[edit]

Hi, could you please elaborate on some portals that you've added that are not obvious from the content of the articles? For example, your addition of "Pop music" to Chulabhorn and adding "Television" and "Theatre" to Soamsawali. Aithus (talk) 06:30, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Chulabhorn was a pop singer during 1980s (see one of her albums), Soamsawali was an actress (see one of her performance) and Bajrakitiyabha was a child actress (see one of her performance). Armonthap (talk) 06:59, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting, but shouldn't the content (and appropriate categories) be added to the articles first, then? Future editors will likely raise the same question otherwise. Aithus (talk) 07:13, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
