What a thoughtless welcome message! Try this one:

Welcome!

Hello, Argyrosargyrou, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

There is a The Bible and history article where your contributions would be more helpful and can be peer-reviewed. Gazpacho 08:23, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

(actually I see you were editing before at Bible chronology. That's probably a better choice than The Bible and history, or creating new articles.) Gazpacho 08:46, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

We also have Books of the Bible where you can find the article about each book. Gazpacho 08:43, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Good work creating new articles and contributing to exisiting ones. When you make contributions, be careful that you don't include copyrighted material. Copyright rules are complicated, so take some time to review Wikipedia:Copyrights. A good general rule is that most things on the internet are already copyrighted by someone else, so they cannot be contributed to wikipedia. Again, content from webpages is usually copyrighted and cannot be added to wiki. Keep up the good work, and feel free to contact me with questions. Feco

I'll re-post to make sure you're aware. Please don't submit text copy/pasted from websites. Most websites copyright their content, so it cannot be used in wikipedia. Feco 16:51, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

God bless

Continue your work, but let me refer you to the website www.cyprus-conflict.net. It is the best impartial site on the net on this subject whose sources are truly authoritative. UNFanatic

Are you a right-wing Greek Cypriot dude? If you are you are not

No. I am centre left.

helping anyone. Learn how to be a diplomat. The situation for the Greek Cypriot viewpoint is already under attack because of your relentless action. Let me know and let me help you out so that we can resolve this issue in a more dignified way. Ellinohyproioi eimaste alla prepei na kratisoime ti psixremia mas. Gia onoma tou Theou. In any case someone apparently started to attack my page as well as yours. I traced his IP address to Midtown Manhattan. A futile attempt though.
No hard feelings. I just a little to weary of the right. Oi dexoioi ellines kai dexoioi toukoi arxisane to provlima me tous anglous. Na me synxoris gia ta logia pou eipa. (UNFanatic 17:17, 31 May 2005 (UTC))[reply]

Hellenic Genocide, Turkish Invasion etc

[edit]

Hello Argyro,

don't judge me for deleting an article. I do not want to delete this article because of the issue (the genocide happened, and yes, Greek Cypriots were killed and chased away by the Turkish army - as I have already admitted on other pages), I want it to be deleted because it is written in a way I personally deem unacceptable for a wikipedia article. There is a certain editing style here at wikipedia, and also a certain way of dealing with other people. Like it or not, if you want to edit here you should respect the rules. You might accuse me yet another time of being biased etc. I am sorry you got that picture.

Try to calm down a bit, and breathe deeply 3 times before you write sth ;) - Snchduer 23:39, 31 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RFC

[edit]

Hi there! You said that the present article on the Cyprus dispute fails to take all sides of the matter into account, and that you have been reverted when trying to add them. I'm no expert on the matter, but might I suggest that you go to WP:RFC (requests for comment) and add one for the Cyprus dispute? That way you'd get feedback from a lot of other 'pedians. Let me assure you that we have strict policy (WP:NPOV) to take all sides into account when writing an article. HTH! Yours, Radiant_* 09:13, Jun 1, 2005 (UTC)

Request for Arbitration

[edit]

You are notified that a formal Request for Arbitration has been filed against you, inviting Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee to review your actions and take whatever action is necessary to enforce Wikipedia's rules and conduct standards. Please take the opportunity to respond to this RfA. -- ChrisO 20:05, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Cyprus dispute

[edit]

Hello. I just reverted the Cyprus dispute page following your reversion. Although I know next to nothing about the dispute, this is not the way to handle the situation- you guys need to come to a reasonable consensus and stop unilaterally implementing your own views, whether they are correct or not. Just discuss possible article changes, and resolve this through diplomacy rather than edit wars. Scimitar 21:19, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Additionally, if you dislike my actions on VfD, I suggest reasoned refutation of my ideas in that forum, or possibly on my talk page. Vandalizing my user page does not win you any converts. --Scimitar 21:27, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Για τον Αργυρό

[edit]

--Ank99 08:09, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Poll

[edit]

There is a poll in the talk page of the Macedonian Slavs article here:

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Macedonian_Slavs#The_poll

Some people are lobbying for changing the article's name to Macedonian without any qualifier. As it seems, a number of these people come from the Macedonian/Macedonian Slav wikipedia project. It seemed only fair to attract the attention of people possibly from the other side of the story .I hope that this message is of interest to you, if not please accept my apologies.

Final decision

[edit]

The arbitration committee has reached a final decision in Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Argyrosargyrou →Raul654 20:07, August 21, 2005 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
