[edit]I have removed the speedy deletion tag from Mike Omoighe, because I think there is enough a claim of notability to make it invalid for speedy deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, I would suggest beginning an articles for deletion discussion. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. Natalie 19:34, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- Similarly, the speedy was removed from PokerTracker because it did not appear to be spam. Please pursue AfD for this article as well, if you still think it is inappropriate for Wikipedia. Natalie 19:46, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- PokerTracker has actually already been nominated for an AfD. (Three different people speedied it and three different people removed the CSD.) You may wish to cast your !vote at the existing AfD though. Natalie 12:35, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- One last note about CSDs and then I promise I'll stop bugging you - CSD criteria G4 only applies to things that have been deleted following an AfD discussion. Articles that were speedily deleted or prodded don't count for G4, although usually the original speedy or prod reason is still valid. Natalie 14:29, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Clearly erroneous A7
[edit]Irwin Zone directly asserts notability in the first sentence - not an A7. May be an AFD, but the speedy criteria don't stretch. Please take more care with these. (This is becoming a matter of public concern and PR problems, so a few people are looking at all CSDs and particularly A7s lately.) Thanks! - David Gerard 16:31, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, thanks for the heads up, I changed the CSD template to a PROD template, which means the article will not be deleted for at least five days. That will give you time to add to the article, and if notability can then be established, the article will not be deleted. Rackabello 18:46, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Please try to exercise a little more discretion when tagging articles for speedy deletion. This page was the creator's first contribution, and it covered a notable subject for which references were available with a simple search, and yet you tagged it with {{db-band}} only one minute after it was created. That's more than a little bitey. I appreciate the work that you're doing by tagging pages for speedy deletion, but it doesn't hurt to take an extra 30 seconds to make sure that a new page isn't worth keeping. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 17:07, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

How can I create a page similar to Geico, Progressive, Allstate, Esurance, you get the idea and it remain active? I am having troubles creating a page for instride that isn't flagged. I link back to all other auto insurance businesses but it doesn't stay up. What did you see that made instride different from the other wiki pages?

Hi Arendedwinter,
I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I removed your CSD template on Das weiß doch jedes Kind! in favor of a redirect to Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?#Versions. I find that redirects are particularly useful when dealing with new users, especially those who have made good faith edits, as it lets them know that the information they were trying to put up is already on Wikipedia, which in turn encourages them to contribute to the main body of knowledge.
Feel free to undo my change if you disagree with it. Apologies for any trouble! --jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:00, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough. On having another look at it, I think it's partly a transcript of a trademark application. I figured spam was the easiest heading to fit it under, as some admins appear to rely closely on the appearance of the words "patent nonsense" in the definition of A1, so there's a risk that it would have been / be rejected on that basis. "Irrelevant"?
[edit]I'm sorry to inform you, but on the Cheating page, the line "Mario is good at eating pie" (that's what I think I saw using VandalProof) was actually vandalism. You did the right thing to revert to ClueBot, though. knit stitch
[edit]Hello, obviously I'm better at knitting than editing wiki pages. Where am I going wrong with writing instructions for the knit stitch, the basic stitch of all hand knitting. The page now diverts to the page on knitting. Is there a problem with me writing instructions on how to do this type of stitch? With the divert on to knitting I can't follow the instructions to stop the page being deleted. Thanks Newbohemianknitwear (talk) 15:37, 10 January 2008 (UTC) The text I wanted to add there was as follows: —Preceding unsigned comment added by Newbohemianknitwear (talk • contribs) 15:45, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
method
[edit]The best way to learn the basic methods of knitting is to be shown by a more experienced knitter. If you do not have access to somebody to show you, the following instructions may be helpful.
Hold your knitting in your left hand, with the empty knitting needle in the right hand.
Slide your right hand needle into the first loop. Just the tip needs to go through.
Wrap your yarn around the tip of the right hand needle so that it rests between the two needles.
Using the right hand needle catch this yarn and pull it down, forming a new loop on your right hand needle.
Pull the old loop off the left hand needle.
