Thank you.

The article ¡Arcadia! has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read WP:BAND. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:14, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article creation

[edit]

I noticed the exchange you had with NawlinWiki (talk · contribs) and I realized that, in none of those exchanges were you instructed on how you might overcome the speedy deletion problem. You kept complaining that you couldn't improve the article because the article wasn't there to improve. Rather than trying to create an article piecemeal in the main article space, you should create it in your own user space first. Articles in your user space can be as insubstantial as you want: they are assumed to be drafts of articles that may someday end up in the main article space. In your user space you can experiment with the format and style of the article, and you can leave it there for days while you search for references to verify any claims you make in the article. Then, once the article is improved to the state you like, you can copy it to the main article space. For example, you seemed to be trying to create an article about a band named ¡Arcadia!. To do so, try creating the article here first. I should warn you though, since the discussion on Nawlinwiki's page indicated the band has only one song, and that song is only available as a Facebook download, your band may not yet meet the criteria of notability required by Wikipedia, and may well be deleted again once you place it in the main article space. However, if you can provide references to reviews of the band in credible publications, or any other of the WP:MUSIC criteria, the page will stand a better chance. I should also point out that, since your name implies that you are a member of the band, this constitutes a conflict of interest. People should not write about their own projects, but rather wait for independent third parties to write about them, as this maintains Wikipedia's neutrality. I hope I've been of some help today.
