Syriac population
[edit]You changed the number of Syriac population from 40,000 to 80,000 in Stockholm County.
Can you proof it? Add sources! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pariiiisssian (talk • contribs) 22:55, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Greetings Aramaean, I didn't wanted to get into an edit war, but I suggest we continue to discuss the issue (if desired) in the Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac). If you need help with anything, please let me know. Chaldean (talk) 23:04, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Assyrians/Syriacs
[edit]Yes As for all articles entitled "Assyrians/Syriacs in X" they should be moved. As for Assyrians in Turkey, I'm moving it just to be safe - I found it doubtful you can have an article about modern-day Assyrians that is not consequently about modern-day Syriacs. The entire nomenclature between Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Syriacs really needs to be cleared up somehow, but I'm not enough of an expert to fix it myself. Let me know if you have any more questions for me. -Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 20:12, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Stop destroying the Assyrians pages! if you want to describe us like Assyrians/Syriacs then why do you only speak about the arameans in the arameans-syriac page?! The Western Assyrians-Syriacs are not only descirbing themselve as arameans so its your choice —Preceding unsigned comment added by WestAssyrian (talk • contribs) 10:40, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Dont change the Assyrian people page! you and the other arameans can write about the aramean-syriac Im going to make a article about the Western Assyians (also called Assyrian-Syriacs) you are arameans and we are the assyrians so stop destroying the assyrian pages! Chaldean/ I want to work with ArameanSyriac but he just change every Assyrian word to Syriac or Aramean! the Syriac term is only refering to the Assyrian-Aramean people belonging to the Syriac Church so its not enough to only describe us Syriacs! Assyrian/Syriac/Chaldeans there are 3 groups so how can the Syriac term refering to the whole group?? the Syriac term isnt a ethnic term its the name of one church! The Assyrian term is ethnic --WestAssyrian (talk) 17:19, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
What are you doing seriously?? be neutral! I havent done anything wrong with the Assyrian people page! I have only added some facts! so stop with your Aramaen propaganda! --WestAssyrian (talk) 21:36, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Category:Syriacs
[edit]Hello AramaeanSyriac - you wrote: I wonder if you could move all articles in category Syriacs to category Syriac people ?
To be honest, it's as easy for you to do that as it is for me, since I change categories manually. It would be easier if you requested that someone who uses an automated bot did this (there is a page to request such help - Wikipedia:Bot requests). Hope that helps, Grutness...wha? 11:05, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, if you were going to do it by hand, you'd simply edit each page to change the category link at the bottom of the page (like I've done with this one here. If you mean you don't know how to make a bot request, simply add a new section to the bottom of Wikipedia:Bot_requests asking for all articles marked with Category:Syriacs to have that link changed to Category:Syriac people. Grutness...wha? 13:33, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Ahono, Chaldean is just the same as WestAssyrian, adding Assyrian in every article trying to put the Syriac name into shadows. The only differnece between him and WestAssyrian is that he knows English, which cannot be told about WestAssyrian. With that said, he still lacks reading comprehension. Speedy deletion of Aramaic Music Festival
[edit]A tag has been placed on Aramaic Music Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Blowdart | talk 09:40, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

The TriZ (talk) 00:06, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- A absolut jag har inget emot det. Men grejen e alla dom här artiklarna som finns Assyrains and syriacs in ISrael, sweden, Syria, Germany etc så borde det även vara en gemensam artikel för diasporna. Tex assyrian and Syriac diasproa. vad tycker du? AramaeanSyriac (talk) 10:12, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
The TriZ (talk) 11:39, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Vet du hur man skapar kategorier? The TriZ (talk) 17:04, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Bästa vore ju Syriac diaspora. Skriv wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Category:NAMNET PÅ KATEGORIN och sen tryck på start article. AramaeanSyriac (talk) 21:55, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
The TriZ (talk) 17:34, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- De e copyright på dom bilderna. man får inte ta bilder o ladda upp hit, man måste ha tillåtelse först. AramaeanSyriac (talk) 21:42, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
The TriZ (talk) 21:59, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Äh ta de säkra före de osäkra. AramaeanSyriac (talk) 22:44, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

"The Syriac flag has it history when André Dupont-Sommer made diggings in the historical Aramaean village Tell-Khalaf,Syria in the beginning of the 19th century." The TriZ (talk) 23:02, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
The TriZ (talk) 23:25, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Stop Confusing your Ethnicity with an extinct peoples
[edit]The Aramaeans are an extinct peoples. They simply do not exist so stop your incompetent edits and meaningless bickering. Your arguments are futile we might as well start arguing that kurds are really medes and the arabs are really moabites or the maronites are really phoenicians. Do you not see the point. I am a student of the Syriac institute and all the linguistic specialists I speak with on this matter dismiss your invalid claims. If you want to discuss this matter provide some data repudiated by professional scholars on the topic. I have been in the linguistics for over a decade and I have never heard of the term Aramaean other than the fact that they died out long ago and that the reality of them being alive to this day is absurd if not historically bias. I am of German Nationality and for me to argue that I am really a Nordic, or Hun, or a Visogoth is absurd likewise with your impotent claims. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.17.218.44 (talk) 23:26, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Assyrian people. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 04:29, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]With all do kindness, I am just monitoring several users in the dispute. I personally dont care what his ethnicity is but here are the problems with your recent edits.
- You claim he is Aramaean-Syriac, thats fine however there is absolutely no evidence saying he is, if there is please by all means provide it
- Second ,The link you provide to support your view does not state Khalil Gibran anywhere in the article, it simply just states that all maronites are syriacs syrians
- As long as you provide viable sources saying he is I dont care, but you must admit the source you gave has no mention of him anywhere in the article, Ninevite (talk) 23:45, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Then please, read the source again. And stop WP:STALKing me. AramaeanSyriac (talk) 23:53, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Re: Edessa
[edit]The web page you link to at the start of this article does not support your claim that this city is "Syriac": it clearly states that at one time most of the inhabitants were Aramean, not Syriac. Further, it notes that the numbers of Aramaic people living in that town dwindled until today there are none; so to use this source to support that it is a "Syriac" town is misrepresenting what it actually says. As far as I know, because it lies inside modern-day Turkey its inhabitants are Turkish, or perhaps Kurdish, it would be far more accurate to say it is a "Turkish" or "Kurdish" town -- & I would expect someone from Turkey who is as proud of heritage as you are of yours would engage in a destructive edit war over that. So I'm reverting it back to more neutral language.
Normally, I'd be inclined to assume this was a mistake due to pride in your ethnic heritage, but the other comments on your talk page lead me to believe that you are being tendentious in your editing -- you have an axe to grind here. I suggest that you pull back your horns concerning these nationalist topics from this moment forward, or the rest of your time here at Wikipedia may be less pleasant & end unpleasantly. -- llywrch (talk) 06:33, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- But then again, the article isn't about the modern city, Edessa is the historical name. The modern name which may not be Aramean/Syriac if course, is called Şanlıurfa. The TriZ (talk) 16:17, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- And it was founded by the Hellenistic Greeks, ruled by the Romans, then later by the Persians & the Byzantines -- all of whom doubtlessly contributed residents. Your point? -- llywrch (talk) 19:40, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- My point was that there won't be anyone from Turkey who will start edit wars over that, since the article is not about the modern city. You might also take in consideration that Edessa is probably most famous of being the capital of the Aramean/Syriac kingdom of Osroene. The TriZ (talk) 14:11, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Your content fork
[edit]You have been repeatedly blocked, and even more often warned, about your Syriac people content fork. Last time you were blocked (by me) was on 19 December. On 8 February, you have again created the fork.[3] Understand that you are very close to a permanent ban at this point. The only scenario that will allow you to create a Syriac people article is a clear consensus at Talk:Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac people that Syriac people can be a WP:SS sub-article of Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac people, with a clear {{main}} link pointing to it. As it happens, there was no link from Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac people to Syriac people, establishing beyond doubt that Syriac people was created as a bad faith pov fork.
If you keep ignoring this and recreate the fork yet again, I will ask for a third opinion from admins with previous experience with your case, and subsequently block your account, either permanently, or for a lenghty period of time (several months). --dab (𒁳) 16:35, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Your edits
[edit]I happened to edit a couple of items on Syriac writers, and noticed that you had edited all of them to add a quite inappropriate "Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac people|Syrian" entry to them. In one case you even suggested that Michael the Syrian wrote in Aramaic instead of Syriac! (And yes, I know Syriac is an Aramaic dialect, but the two are different languages).
None of your contributions seem to add relevant information on the article, you see. These comments add nothing; instead they look like promotional spam. Trying to change every article contributed by others in order to boost your racial or political group is normally considered vandalism.
Please stop doing this. Roger Pearse (talk) 16:43, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
- Just wanted to flick in with that this user has been permanently blocked, unfortunately. Even though he had some problems understanding some wikipedia policies, he did actually made some good contributions. This promotional spam you speak of, has developed to some war between Syriacs and Assyrians calling historical figures for Syriac or Assyrian. I'm personally of the opinion that it is correct to call some of them Syriacs, but calling some historical figures like Michael the Syrian for Assyrian (as you can see by the articles history) is just crossing the line (the term Assyrian haven't been used since the fall of the Assyrian empire until the the late of the 19th century).
