{{helpme}} Thank you for your note! I am trying to create a number of redirects to accommodate spelling variations in the titles of the articles I just set up i.e. Scottevest, Inc., SCOTTEVEST Inc, SCOTTEVEST/SeV, etc. I read the directions for how to set up a redirect, but I wanted to ask if setting up 10+ spelling variations for an entry is good/acceptable practice? Mostly they are minor. Thank you for your help!

ApparenzA (talk) 12:25, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects from plausible spelling variations are ok. If there is significant likelihood that someone will actually type the spelling variation in a search box, then it is probably ok. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 14:21, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} One of the articles I created is "Scott Jordan (entrepreneur)" but there is another article about a different person titled "Scott Jordan" to which all searches default. There is a third Scott Jordan article ("Scott Jordan (baseball)") which is also bypassed in favor of the default article. What is the procedure to rename the article "Scott Jordan" to "Scott Jordan (football)" or otherwise present the reader with the three options that exist for "Scott Jordan" bios? Thank you for your help! ApparenzA (talk) 04:44, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Looks like we need a disambiguation page. I'll try to sort it out shortly, and get back to you. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  04:56, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All sorted out, I think/hope. I moved the old Scott Jordan page to Scott Jordan (footballer), then I created the disambiguation page Scott Jordan, and added 'hatnotes' to all 3 articles, so that they have links to the disambig at the top.
Hope this is all OK - if not, drop me a note on my talk page, cheers,  Chzz  ►  05:41, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That is perfect - thank you Chzz! ApparenzA (talk) 09:49, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
