Proposed deletion of Kavitaa Trust
[edit]The article Kavitaa Trust has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The article cites no independent sources, and searches have failed to produce evidence of satisfying Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. December 2015
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Melvyn Rodrigues. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Kavita Trust
[edit]References in a Wikipedia article are not allowed to sit directly in body text, so that the article reads and looks like this — offsite links being used as "references" may exist only inside nested reference footnote tags, so that the link appears in the "references" section of the article and not in the running body text. If you really need those links, you can view the old version of the article to see them — but an article is not allowed to be formatted that way, so they can't just be simply restored back to the way they were. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. JudeccaXIII (talk) 22:48, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Kishoo Barkur
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Kishoo Barkur, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kishoo Barkur. (See section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Antonybarkur. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:18, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Jimfbleak,
- Melvyn Rodrigues is a leading poet of my language Konkani. He has been honoured by Indian top literary body Sahitya akademi. So I know him as a writer. I am neither related to Melvyn Rodrigues nor I am working with him. I had created this page about him to collate the information which would benefit students and readers of my language Konkani. Hope this information is sufficient. Please let me know if you need more info. Also suggest any changes required in the article. Antonybarkur (talk) 16:31, 24 September 2022 (UTC)

[edit]- When you write about a person, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls.
- He is probably notable, but some of the text is unreferenced, and more has external links instead of references. All the references just give a title, with no hint of the publication, and should be formatted using the cite web template {{cite web |url= |title= |last= |first= |date= |publisher= |access-date= }} Several of the references are dead and should be replaced. His publications don't need references or external links, but the books need ISBN numbers.
- You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
- Encyclopaedia articles should use his surname, not "Melvyn", and "About Melvyn" is completely inappropriate as a heading, this isn't FaceBook.
- There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
- The text is littered with external links, they should be converted to references, moved to a final "External links" section, if they are appropriate as such, or omitted if they are just links to company or similar websites
- You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
- Section and table headings should be in sentence case, not title case, shouldn't include wikkilinks, and shouldn't include his name. For example, the last heading should just be "Geet Gazaal 2.0"
- Terms should only be wikilinked once. It looks spammy to link eg Kavita Trust every time.
If you want to try to fix these multiple problems, let me know and I'll sandbox it for you Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:22, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I would like to work on these suggestions to adhere to Wiki guidelines. Please sandbox the article for me. Antonybarkur (talk) 14:36, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
