Skysails

[edit]

Hello, User:Antonellocherubini. Thank you for the reference you posted [here]; I used it to add some information to another article [here]. I'm not quite sure I understand the bit that says "specifically, SkySails uses high speed winching during reel-in while the kite is kept at the edge of the wind window. The kite is then winched directly against the wind without changing the kite angle of attack." Does this mean that the kite is winched in all the way from a position on the edge of the window, while angled to generate maximal force rather than partly stalled, or that it is winched in rapidly from this position and then swung directly downwind, spilling air, as it is recovered? I am sure I would understand if I knew a bit more about the field, but sadly I don't yet. I would be grateful for any advice.

I also wanted to ask you about this edit; you wrote that the company was bankrupt, but gave no source. I couldn't find a source and eventually e-mailed the company; they wrote that they were operational. I expect that there is a source, and the company went through some sort of bankruptcy crisis; please let me know, and I'll put the information back in, but for now I've removed your text. I hope you are OK with this; I don't want to discourage you from editing. We need more experts and academics on Wikipedia (there's even an essay about how to keep them). Thanks again for your edits.

As a side note, I assume that you speak Italian; adding the source text:

{{User it}}{{User en-5}}

to your userpage will let others know and contact you in Italian if they prefer Italian, by displaying these Wikipedia:Userboxes:

itQuest'utente è di madrelingua italiana.
en-5This user can contribute with a professional level of English.

...or whatever describes your language abilities. Apologies if you know this already. There are a ridiculous number of userboxes. I find some of them useful; I've used four on my rather minimalist userpage: HLHJ (talk) 19:12, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
