Welcome! meh? (not quite "meh" but...)

[edit]

Hello, Sturmgewehr88... so I've been here for nine years explicitly, longer anonymously, tinkering here, tinkering there under the radar until now. I'm more interested in doing small edits where I see the need rather than "writing articles". I appreciate the Welcome Wagon. Maybe one of these days I'll decide to become more involved but for now I'll keep m'self to m'self and all.

cheers...ank (I didn't like the result of 3 ~'s; call it orneriness. perhaps it's just as well I don't dive in too deep for now. I'm just not into that "Obey!" thing overmuch.)

An old edit in 2001 made with your username

[edit]

Hello, while investigating old Wikipedia edits, I found out that back in 2001, someone with the username Ansak" created the "Portability" page. Do you think that might have been you? Wikipedia used a completely different database structure back then so the similarity in usernames isn't really a clue one way or the other ... neither is your editing profile, from what I can gather. For now I've attributed the edit to Ansak (2001 editor), but if you're reasonably sure you were the one who made the edit (despite the passage of time), I can have it re-attributed to this username. Hi, Graham87. That's almost certainly me. It reads like me. It sounds familiar. I have been using the username 'ansak' since 1995 at least (see http://pgp.mit.edu/pks/lookup?search=ansak%40bigfoot.com&op=index for corroboration) -- and it seems so ridiculously narrow now, no? A chance to laugh at myself. Yes, it's probably me. The whole 'abnsak' thing has me confused, unless that was a trippy-keyboard thing (I might have double-hit b and n that one time? Was that before passwords and accounts in wikipedia?)
Thanks for asking.
PS: just looked at your profile. I am in awe. Let's cross paths again some time. Ansak (talk) 14:39, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the response and for the kind words. The "Abnsak" thing was my typo, not yours; sorry about that. I'll get the edit redone under the Ansak username. Graham87 (talk) 06:59, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
