User talk:Anrie Nord
Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.
Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.
Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) 16:30, Jun 9, 2005 (UTC)
Templates-for-Deletion entry: Template:Musicbrainz wiki box
[edit]see Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:Musicbrainz_wiki_box
This TFD-entry has too few discussion points for me to make a judgement as to consensus. Could you consider providing your opinion as you provided input to the MusicBrainz article just within the past couple of weeks? Thanks for considering this. Courtland 01:53, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
- I have submitted my opinion. — Anrie Nord 21:49:04, 2005-09-01 (UTC)
Quarl's new signature
[edit]Happy New Year! Your new signature with ISO 8601 formatted date & time is nice :) Could You tell me how to use expressions like current year, month, etc. in a customized signature? — Anrie Nord 16:12, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately you can't substitute templates in the standard Wikipedia ~~~~ signature, so it's basically impossible using that. Also there is no builtin {{CURRENTDAY2}}, so it wouldn't work to subst it anyway. Therefore the solution is Javascript :) Previously I replaced the signature toolbar button to insert the signature, but now I found a better way: User:Quarl/advanced_sig.js (which see) is a user script that replaces ~~~~ with a nice ISO 8601 signature. I see that you are a JS-3 so you should have no problem hacking on it :) —Quarl (talk) 2006-01-05 05:35Z
- Thanks for the tips! I have done the new signature based on your JS functions. I was surprised by a number of features you impelement in JavaScript for Wikipedia. — Anrie Nord 2006-01-12 03:22Z
I see you edited Petri net. I more or less wrote all of that article. I would be really pleased if you could give some feedback on it. You can edit it yourself, or you can put something up into the talk page, I will read it and edit the article accordingly. Few people read the article, so I need feedback! Thx in advance, Msoos 22:12, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
Netconf WhitePapers
[edit]I don't understand why you assume that it is advertisement? http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Netconf&diff=123491664&oldid=123386673
These are some of the few recent public good papers related to XML network management. Netconf is currently slowly implemented.
Please, can you restore it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vjardin (talk • contribs) 11:05, 17 April 2007 (UTC).
- No, I'm not going to. First, I guess you work for a company which has published these white papers. As far as I know, Wikipedia policies don't allow to promote proprietary materials in such way. Second, I've taken a look through the white papers. There is only one phrase where NETCONF standard was mentioned. All other stuff is about a product of the company. This doesn't give any useful info about NETCONF to a reader. Third, the article is about NETCONF, not just about XML-based management protocols. By the way, there are a lot of stuff on XML-based management technologies in general. You could search the Web for WBEM-related stuff or take a look at papers mentioned at SimpleWeb. — Anrie Nord 2007-04-17 20:16Z

Wikipedia Stories Project

Hi!
My name is Victor and I'm a storyteller with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. I'm chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who make and use Wikipedia have so much to share.
I'm scouring user pages looking for inspiring, motivating and interesting stories of how Wikipedia has affected the lives of people. I'm asking questions like "How has Wikipedia changed your life?", "What's the most interesting story you have about Wikipedia?" and "Has Wikipedia ever surprised you?"
Last year, we used the annual fundraiser as a way to show the world who it is who actually writes Wikipedia. We featured editors from Brazil, Ukraine, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, India, United States and England. This campaign was a huge success, resulting in the most financially successful fundraising campaign ever. It was also a campaign that stayed true to the spirit of Wikipedia, educating the public that this free top-5 website is created by volunteers like you and I.
This year we want to highlight more Russian-language Wikipedia editors, so I am in the process of planning a trip to Russia to interview editors.
If you or someone you know (or have heard about) has been positively affected by Wikipedia, or have something interesting to say about Wikipedia I'd very much like to hear about it!
Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project, or if you know someone else with whom I should speak.
Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please ask! I will answer as soon as I can. I apologize for any poor translation of this letter, I am using Google-translate. I hope it makes you laugh :)
Thank you for your time,
Victor Grigas

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
