Removal of kerseyscreen

How do you delete pages? Or can only administrators do that? One way or another please delete 'kerseyscreen'. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Benk115 (talkcontribs) 11:18, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

The page has been tagged for speedy deletion. An admin will come around to delete it. The normal way to ask a page to be deleted is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Anna Lincoln 11:20, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Removal of EU

I removed it from those places where it was NOT in the source. If it is not in the source it should not be in the article. Otherwise it is Original Research.--Blue Tie (talk) 19:13, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm gonna spend some time using this shiny tool. See you pal Anna Lincoln 15:11, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

On the above article, you changed "Musial" to "Musical", using AWB. Please be careful when editing baseball articles with AWB, because Stan Musial is a baseball player, and his name appears in a lot of other players' articles, because he's a Hall of Famer and holds a lot of records. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks! KV5 (TalkPhils) 11:55, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry, today is my second day using AWB. I'll be more careful in the future. Regards, Anna Lincoln 13:45, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
I, Zntrip, hereby award Anna Lincoln the Anti-Vandalism Barnstar for her great contributions to reverting vandalism on Wikipedia. – Zntrip 08:00, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Thank you very much, this is my second barnstar ever! :-D I started using Huggle only a few days ago; prior to that, I did vandalism fighting manually :-S Anna Lincoln 08:05, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

When an article is blanked by the only major contributor, it should be treated as {{db-author}} instead of reverting. 98.248.33.198 (talk) 08:08, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

You're right. I got confused because Superstar1991, when blanking the article, removed the speedy deletion template placed by ClubOranje. The removal of a speedy deletion tag is normally considered vandalism and revertable. I didn't realise that Superstar1991 was the very creator or the article. Anna Lincoln 08:13, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Err, Ukraine is always referred to as "the Ukraine". 124.190.113.128 (talk) 09:47, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

No, it's not. Please read the article Ukraine. Not a single "the Ukraine" there. Anna Lincoln 09:49, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
It's just another one of those quirks of English. There is a specific point when Ukraine is referred to as "the Ukraine", and this is one of them. Podagrycznik (talk) 09:59, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
I simply don't believe you. Anna Lincoln 10:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Historical usage. For example, "Kharkov was placed on a new footing in 1765; and at the same time it became the administrative centre of the Ukraine." But according to http://wsu.edu/~brians/errors/ukraine.html, when the region formerly known as "The Ukraine" split off from the old Soviet Union, it declared its preference for dropping the article, and the country is now properly called simply "Ukraine." Sizzle Flambé (/) 11:02, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for enlightening me :-) Nevertheless, apart from that historical usage, we agree that today the country is called "Ukraine". Regards, Anna Lincoln 11:08, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Doubtless the wording of Słowacki's birthplace was clouded by his birthdate being 200 years ago. Borders and names change.... Sizzle Flambé (/) 11:23, 28 October 2009 (UTC) 11:23, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
You're right, I would have never guessed that, when he was born, the country was called "The Ukraine". Anna Lincoln 11:27, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
No, just for a number of years between then and now (chiefly post-WWII); Słowacki's birthplace had traded hands between Russia and Poland twice during the 20th century. That's the confusing part. Sizzle Flambé (/) 15:17, 28 October 2009 (UTC) 15:17, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it is confusing :-S Anna Lincoln 08:17, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi, you advised User:Drtahir007 that they could request speedy deletion per G7 but WP:CSD says that this can only be used, "provided that the page's only substantial content was added by its author" as this isn't the case would you mind telling them that they can't actually and also notify them of WP:OWN as the editor is the subject of the article. See also Wikipedia:Coin#Tahir Abbas. Thanks Smartse (talk) 10:19, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

You're right, I missed that part of the policy. I told the user to ignore my message. I talked to him about WP:AfD and WP:OWN. Thanks, Anna Lincoln 10:29, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

You have beaten me in reverting vandalism more than five times!  Merlion  444  10:48, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the star. It was not my intention to beat you :-) It's however true that, when you revert many times, some of them Huggle says the page had already been reverted. I also think that people in the US will have faster internet connections and will reach WP servers faster than me. Regards, Anna Lincoln 10:52, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

My talk page

Thank you for reverting my talk page. I hate people whose changes are reverted in some article, and then they decide to attack users instead. Ilyushka88 (talk) 10:57, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

I feel you deserve this barnstar. Almost every time I am about to revert vandalism using huggle, you already have reverted it. You are very fast. Also thank you for reverting my talk page! Ilyushka88 (talk) 11:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Your comment

What do you mean my edit is vandalism? How would one go about removing non-sense page written off top of his head that is clearly not encyclopedic material? Cantaloupe2 (talk) 19:36, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

You can't remove all contents from an article, that blanking is normally considered vandalism. Instead, you can add templates, as you have done in your last edit. You can also nominate an article for deletion at WP:AfD. Regards, Anna Lincoln 19:44, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Shaun O'Hara

Anna, you reverted my correction of Shaun O'Hara's birthplace and called it "unconstructive". I don't get it because I cited a source for my information--O'Hara's profile page on Giants.com, the official site for the team. The reference to O'Hara's birthplace of Chicago didn't even have a source cited to it. What gives, Anna Banana? Help me out here.Winstonwolf33 (talk) 19:26, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Not really sure how to post on this, but...

You keep reverting the edit I'm making to the Pepsi Center page. Not only are the other two South Park episode appearances on the page without citation, but I then posted a link proving that the Pepsi Center appears in the episode "W.T.F.", and you continue to change the page back. Stop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.59.86.236 (talk) 10:24, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

My apologies, W.T.F. is an expletive that many vandals insert in random articles. I removed my warning and restored your edit. Best wishes, Anna Lincoln 10:30, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

81.145.152.172

Anna Lincoln - you have reverted changes I have made to the page user B34nz

I have eddited this to include a description of the user on the site reddit.com

I have correctly sourced the information and provided background links

Please advise why you consider it vandalism to note his current activities? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.145.152.172 (talk) 10:28, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

IP, see WP:PA. Ilyushka88 (talk) 10:36, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
The page User:B34nz should normally be edited only by the user itself. Appart from that, in the edit you made, you called him "homophobic and racist", "who frequently uses anti-islam and anti-gay remarks". This is called attacking or disparaging the user. Such edits are not permitted in Wikipedia. Now go and read Wikipedia:No personal attacks, as Ilyuska88 said. Anna Lincoln 10:42, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

anna - re: user b34nz

Why should a user be the only person allowed to edit their wiki? Can i set up a new wiki to discuss this individucal? If i source comments from his user page that support the statement that he is homophobic and racist will you allow the edits to remain? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.145.152.172 (talkcontribs) 10:53, October 19, 2009

We do not need to have list here of people that are homophobic and/or racist. Maybe he does not want to have that information about himself in Wikipedia. Ilyushka88 (talk) 10:58, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
The subject is not notable enough, so forget creating an article on him and move on, there is plenty of work to do here, try visiting and improving other articles. (An user page is not the same as an article page on the subject, if this enlightens you). Cheers, Ilyushka. Anna Lincoln 11:00, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft

Hi Anna, how can amending (but not deleting) offensive language be unconstructive or vandalism? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.41.73.114 (talk) 08:27, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Policy at WP:NOT#CENSORED says that "words and images that would be considered offensive, profane, or obscene by typical Wikipedia readers should be used if and only if their omission would cause the article to be less informative, relevant, or accurate". Anna Lincoln 08:29, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Anna, Its a totally ridiculous policy which allows offensive language but threatens users when they amend such language. Please explain how amending the word to F*cking would "...cause the article to be less informative, relevant, or accurate"? The word has only been amended, it and the whole sentence have not been deleted. Thanks, Tony. 80.41.73.114 (talk) 08:51, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

The word "fucking" is more easily read than "f'cking", that may be confused with a word in another language. You must abide with policy, no matter if you find it "ridiculous". Anna Lincoln 09:02, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

I wonder in which other language the word "f*cking" could be confused? I've seen many other examples of entries where this word has been abbreviated, I assume to avoid offence. So, we MUST abide with policy, no matter if it offends or is not applied uniformly. Bobbieball (talk) 09:36, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

"F*cking" is read more difficultly than "fucking". You say "I've seen many other examples of entries where this word has been abbreviated". I haven't, please give me examples. And yes, you must abide policy or else you will end up blocked. Anna Lincoln 09:40, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
I found some [[1]]. You win, I give up, it seems that you're right. Go and make the change. Anna Lincoln 09:44, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

I've made the change but now received another 'warning' from pablomismo. Surely all the warnings you issued should now be deleted or a note made that my amendment has been approved? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobbieball (talkcontribs) 10:41, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Your amendment hasn't been "approved". I just said: I don't matter, I don't care if the change is made or not, do what you want. Now you have to deal with Pablomismo. Note that you are receiving warnings from more than one user, maybe you should leave the article as it is now. It's not a great change, it's not worth the time spent, is it? Anna Lincoln 10:46, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Anna, that's a bit of a cop out! What if i don't want to accept your or Pablomismo's changes? Why should i be penalised for amending an offencive word? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobbieball (talkcontribs) 10:59, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

First of all, what you should not do is edit warring to force your changes, because you may end up blocked. Instead, you should use talk pages to gain consensus for your change. Go to the talk page of the article and say: "I want to replace fucking with f*cking". Some people will say "yes" and some other "no". They will explain the reasons for their stances. After that, all reasons will be weighted and the community will pass a final decision regarding the matter. That's what you should do. Anna Lincoln 11:07, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Groupon article

Hi Anna,

Can you please let me know how you suggest i insert the name of a company competitors in its page? I am following the same model it was done for Intel. I am quoting Boston.com, which seems reputed source. Any sugestions? Thanks, Pedro —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pedro.tudela (talkcontribs) 08:36, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

BuyWithMe is a non-notable competitor of Groupon because it is a very small company even to have its own article in Wikipedia, which has been speedy tagged. Talking about BuyWithMe in this context constitutes advertising, which is not tolerable. Anna Lincoln 08:41, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

IMHO they are notable competitor. Mentioned in Boston.com, fox.com and other very relevant media. They are present in 3 cities, groupon in 10. Group buying is a new category, quite interesting to follow. Would love to see more companies added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pedro.tudela (talkcontribs) 09:10, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Dell Schanze

I just received info from you stating about this article on Dell Schanze and I don't know if you notice but its is a very bias article to destroy his character. He is a well respected man and if you read the article you can see for yourself it is filed with hate and non facts. For example you have an opinion of him having a mental disorder but its not fact he does not suffer from any type of disorder. Also it states there where kids in the car and there where no kids in the car, thats why he was not charged for that he was charged for the gun. Also he has broken 3 records in the PPG community and also owns U-Turn USA. Now the WPSDA is gaining a lot of popularity and a writer from WPPDA wrote this article to destroy his character and is adding the link of the wiki page to all the ppg forms, ppg website, and ppg youtube account to attack his image. You don't know Dell Schanze in person like I do and he is trying to find a way to correct this. No one knows more about a person than the actual person. So who are the people going to believe someone who wrote about Dell Schanze or Dell Schanze. Please review the article and you will notice the non facts about his life. Also the incident of Dell Schanze calling the Indians names is fiction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.164.208.177 (talk) 09:19, 21 October 2009 (UTC) Also Dell Schanze's "SUPERDELL" nick name was never asked to not use the name "SUPERDELL" Dell computers did not trademark the name "SUPERDELL" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.164.208.177 (talk) 09:24, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Your Warning on User:87.236.253.100

I think it was a bit quick to revert and warn this user on the Hedgehog article. See my explanation on their talk page. Thanks! Gpia7r (talk) 17:30, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

You said to the user 203.78.9.150 that he make some weird edits to my page, actually, it was me. I was at the National Library Board using the computer. Since there wasn't much time left, i did not logged in. I recorded IP address at my so that the editiors will know that it is a shared computer. Aquadeias 06:48, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello. I saw a shared IP adding "User talk:203.78.9.150" to a user page and that seemed vandalism to me. I'm sorry for the message and revert. Best wishes, Anna Lincoln 07:18, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Hey. I am having hard time to believe that he really is User:Adam2893. Have a look at this. Just to let you know.  Ilyushka88  talk  08:36, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, maybe he is, maybe not. In any case, if he wants to blank his user page, he should log in. If he is blocked, he should ask at ANI. Otherwise, that is block evasion. Cheers, Anna Lincoln 08:39, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

I was going to leave a warning on the talk page, but it seems you've beaten me to it. Just to let you know, this I.P. has also vandalised here and here. WFCforLife (talk) 09:33, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

The Federal Income tax is completely unconstitutional. There is literally NO law in existence that requires you to pay the federal income tax.

Why do you lie to people, Anna ??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vehadi (talkcontribs) 09:58, October 23, 2009

You must provide reliable sources that back what you're saying if you want to add that to an article. Anna Lincoln 09:59, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

First of all the Federal Income Tax is completely unconstitutional as it is a direct unapportioned tax. All direct taxes have to be apportioned to be legal, based on the Constitution. Secondly, the required number of states in order to ratify the amendment to allow the Income Tax was never met. And this has even been sided in modern court cases. Third, at the present day roughly 25% of the average worker's income is taken from them via this tax. That means you work 4 months out of the year to refill this tax obligation. And guess where that money goes? It goes to pay the interest on the currency being produced by the fraudulent Federal Reserve Bank, a system that does not have to exist at all. The money you make working 4 months out of the year goes almost literally into the pockets of the international bankers who own the private Federal Reserve Bank. And forth, even with the fraudulent Government claim as to the legality of the Income Tax there is literally no statute, no law in existence that requires you to pay this tax. Period.

“I really expected that, of course there is a law that you can point to in the law book, a code that requires you to file a tax return. Of course there is! I was at that point where I couldn't find a statute that clearly made me personally liable, at least not me and the most people I know and I had no choice in my mind except to resign.” –Joe Turner, Former IRS Agent

“Based on the resource that I did throughout the year 2000 and that I'm still doing I have not found that law. I've asked the Congress, we've asked a lot of people, in the IRS, IRS Commissioner's helpers, they can't answer because if they answer the American people are gonna know that this whole thing is a fraud.” –Sherry Jackson, Former IRS Agent

The income tax is nothing less than the enslavement of the entire country. Now, the control of the economy and the perpetual robbery of wealth is only one side of the Rubik's cube that bankers hold in their hands.

Argue that on the article's talk page and wait some time to see what people think about that. If everybody is happy, you can make the changes, if not, no. Discuss with them and try to reach consensus. Anna Lincoln 10:12, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Please read what you are restoring at Mitch Fatel. Electrified Fooling Machine (talk) 08:14, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

You can't remove such huge contents from an article. The page is about an Iraqui politician, and you want to write an article about an American Comedian who has the same name. What you should do is create an article named "Mitch Fatel (Comedian)". Anna Lincoln 08:18, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

That userboxes are designed to be used with a person who has that profession, not to describe the profession itself. Yes, you are right. My bad. I will apologise to the user. I will revert myself. Anna Lincoln 08:40, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Page blanked by author

Hi. Though page blanking is usually vandalism and needs to be reverted, it is worth looking first at the page history, because quite often the author has blanked his own page, as with An-Yang Chen just now. In those cases the best thing is to tag it {{db-author}}. It can be confusing for an author who realises his page is inappropriate and blanks it, if his page is at once restored and he is accused of vandalism for the blanking and told it was unconstructive. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:27, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

I saw it was already tagged with {{db-nonsense}}, so I didn't check the history to see he was the very author. Thanks for the tip, much appreciated :-) Anna Lincoln 09:30, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Sprachliche Charakteristika

Phonologie

Vokalphoneme des Tulu
  vorne hinten
ger. unger.
kurz lang kurz lang kurz lang
geschlossen i ī u ū ɯ ɯ̄
mittel e ē o ō
offen ɛ ɛ̄ a ā

  labial dental retroflex palatal velar
Plosive (stl.) p t c k
Plosive (sth.) b d j g
Nasale m n ñ
Approximanten v     y
Laterale   l
Taps   r

Beispielwort mara „Baum“
Kasus Singular Plural Bedeutung

Or pls suggest any wikipedian who can do this in German......

Here is my translation of the text you put on my talk page as you requested. Notice that my German level is not very high, hence the translation may have mistakes. Note also that there were strange characters in the original text that my editor cannot handle, so it would be a good idea to check the Tulu words against the original source. Phonology

Vocal phonemes of Tulu
  front back
rounded unrounded
short long short long short long
closed i i- u u- ?
middle e e- o o-
open ? a a-

The inventary of phonemes of Tulu has fourteen vocals, seven short and seven long. Salient are the vocals ? and ?, unknown to most of the other Dravidian languages. They only come in specific positions, which contrasts with e and u, e.g. batte "he came" with batt? "I came" and pattu "it will begin" with patt? "begin!".

Consonant phonemes of Tulu
  labial dental retroflex palatal velar
Plosive (loss of voice) p t t. c k
Plosive (with voice) b d d. j g
Nasal m n n. ñ n.
Approximate v     y
Lateral   l
Tap   r
Fricative   s   s'

In Tulu there are 21 consonant phonemes. The plosives are in five rows (labial, dental, retroflex, palatal and velar), in each case with or without voice loss variants. In some dialects, there is the retroflex lateral front l., others have s and s' with c collapsed. Word-initial consonant clusters are rare and occur mainly in Sanskrit loan words.

Morphology

Tulu has three word types: nouns, verbs and not-declinated. Nouns take suffixes to indicate the case and number, displayed by verb suffixes, and person, number and gender, as well as categories such as accusativity, reflexivity or completivity. The not-declinated include adjectives and adverbs, which are generally not bent.

The plural suffix is-r?, -allu or -kulu. The Tulu knows eight cases: nominative, accusative, dative, ablative, two locatives, tradeoff, and genitive. The nominative case is unmarked, the remaining cases are expressed by suffixes that are attached to the verb stem in the singular, or the plural suffixes in the plural. The case suffixes have allophones that occur under certain circumstances. Some strains undergo changes if it will accept suffixes, so that "kudka" 'Fox' converts in the accusative to "kudke".

Beispielwort mara „Tree“
Case Singular Plural Meaning
Nominative mara marakulu The tree (subject)
Accusative maran? marakulen? The tree (direct object)
Dative marak? marakuleg? To the tree (indirect object)
Ablative marad.d? marakuled.d? From the tree
Lokative 1 marat.? marakuled.? in the tree
Lokative 2 marat.? marakuled.? near the tree
Sociative marat.a marakuled.a with the tree
Genitive marata marakulena of the trees

In addition, there is a vocative, which is formed by changing the stem vowel, eg ve-ba'>'ba-va-"brother". More specific issues are by post position s, which usually govern the genitive, expressed, for example, 'gud.d.e da mitt?' "on the hill ".

The personal pronouns are irregularly inflected:ya-n? "I" makes the oblique case suffixes rootsat-. For "we" there is an inclusive and exclusive pronouns:'en.kulu' "(we) without you," and 'nama' "we (with you)". For verbs, this distinction does not exist. The personal pronouns of the second person are 'i' ('oblique' ni-) "you" and 'nuwgulu' "her". In the third person there is a distinction between masculine, feminine and neuter, and proximal and distal deixis, for example, 'imbe' renamed "(this one) he", 'A-ye' "(that) he". In the case of personal pronouns can be used (even in the third person) a polite form of the suffix'-r?' set up 'ir?' "You", 'ar?' "He (respectfully)".

A lot of thanks..!!!!!!

Thankyou madam.....I got more than i expected.....You did a great job.....Thanks a hundred times.....:-)
