The article Karyam nissaram has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable film

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Yoour illegal removal of maintenance template

[edit]

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Karyam nissaram, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Discuss this, the proposal to delete is not final, yet. I have struck the word "illegal" in the above, since it is open to misunderstanding, and nothing "illegal" has occurred. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 10:10, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

why i removed

[edit]

i hope you can read this demiurge. the article was proposed for deletion stating nonnotable film. acted by renowned actors produced directed by established professionals. i also attached links to different sites that discuss the movie and describe the movie like IMdb etc.. it appears in other wiki pages as part of their work.. why is it nonnotable. there is no easy way to ask this to people.i am not even sure whether you will even get this? Do not link me to a wikipedia page discussing notability as i have read.. give credible answer.. Aneeshjoseph10912 (talk) 11:57, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • IMDB is not considered a reliable source by Wikipedia. This is mainly because almost anyone can edit information there. In addition, most blogs that do not have wider editorial control as part of a reputable publication, are not considered reliable sources either. (That would include everything on a .blogspot.com domain). What you need to add to the article is reliable, independent sources that do not fall in those categories. Because the movie predates the internet, this will be more difficult. However, old newspapers that discuss the movie are perfectly acceptable as sources, regardless of whether they are available on the internet or not. Simply list the name of the newspaper, the publisher of the newspaper, the name of the person who wrote the newspaper article, date of publication, title of the piece, and page number. Similarly with old magazines or books.
  • I have removed the proposed deletion tag from the article, since a proposed deletion requires the subject to be uncontroversially non-notable, which is not the case here. (The movie was mentioned in The Hindu, one of the world's most widely read newspapers, in a way that suggested that it is well known, in India at least.) It is still possible that someone will nominate the article for deletion; if they do so, then there will be a deletion discussion, which will give anyone interested the opportunity to comment on the suggested deletion. If you are able to add independent reliable sources that discuss the movie, that would help to avoid, or deal with, any such nomination.
  • Some of the wikilinks for the cast and crew seem to be going to the wrong articles; you may wish to re-check these.
  • Please try to add edit summaries when saving an edit; this helps to avoid misunderstandings. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:23, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
