Your RfA
For what it's worth, I'm a bit upset about your RfA -- please see my supporting comment #60 and my response (with links) to opposing comment #15.--A. B. 08:14, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your support in my recent RfA!
Thanks for contributing to my successful RfA! | ||
To the people who have supported my request: I appreciate the show of confidence in me and I hope I live up to your expectations! To the people who opposed the request: I'm certainly not ignoring the constructive criticism and advice you've offered. I thank you as well! ♥! ~Kylu (u|t) 07:02, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply] |

Picture
Hi Andy! I really need your help on how to upload a picture. I tried to read the manual on copyright tags and all that other stuff, but it was way too confusing. You see, I'm working on the Rebecca Mader article and I would like to have a picture of her. Could you give me a step-by-step or something? But only if you had time. Don't waste hours trying to teach a simple-minded girl! :) loulou 03:18, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
User:Misza13's pile!
Thank you for contributing the impressive the pile of supports gathered on my RfA, which passed with a final tally of 0x0104/0x01/0x00. I'm happy that so many people have put faith in my abilities as an admin and promise to use the tools wisely and do my best not to let you down. If I ever may be of assistance, just leave a note on my talk page. Misza13, the rouge-on-demand admin wishes you happy editing! Request for Adminship
It is my regretful task to inform you that your recent request for adminship failed to achieve consensus to promote, and has been closed. Please do not be discouraged; a number of users have had their first RfA end without consensus, but have been promoted overwhelmingly in a later request. Please continue to make outstanding contributions to Wikipedia, and consider requesting adminship again in the future. You may find Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship helpful in deciding when to consider running again. If I can be of any help to you, please do not hesitate to ask. Essjay (Talk) 10:24, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Looks like I'm going to have to go back to spending half my time on AIV blocking your reports ;-) I guess at least it didn't fail in a too depressingly overwhelming manner, and I don't see any reason why another RFA in a few months time will fail (especially if you can show a couple of examples of you being 'flexible'...). What's your thinking on this (email me if you want)? Petros471 10:35, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Tdxiang has been editing infrequently for some time (no edits in the past 4 days, and only 50 in the past month), so:
Hi Andypandy.UK! You've signed up to be a judge for the Esperanza User Page Award! You'll have three user pages to examine. The user pages you get coincide with your signup number. So if you signed up to be a judge in spot 1 than you will get nominations 1-3. Pick your favorite one, and list it in the finalist section. After all 5 judges have chosen a finalist it's time to award them 1-10 points in the four categories:
Attractiveness: general layout, considering colour scheme and/or use of tables if applicableUsefulness: links to subpages or editing aids, helpful informationInteresting-ness: quirky, unique, captivating, or funny contentGeneral niceness: at the judges' discretion
Please see the Scores section on this page for additional information on your job as a judge.
Keep in mind that your scores are confidential! Email Banes with your scores and final picks. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced! Thanks.
- Cancel the last comment. Tdxiang is back, and is judging, and you're busy now :) --May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 12:02, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please tak over my role as judge. Computerjoe's talk 16:37, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Computerjoe has cancelled out his name from the judges list, and therefore, here I am to ask you to judge the 5 finalists, if you're not to busy :)
Hello, Andypandy.UK. This is a quick message to remind you that all 5 finalists for the Esperanza User Page Award have been chosen. You now need to judge those 5 pages, awarding each one 1-10 points for attractiveness, usefulness, interesting-ness and general niceness. Refer to the Scores section at the project page if you are unsure of how to score.
Once you have scored the 5 pages, email Banes using the specified format. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced. Thanks.
- There are 5 finalists listed there. For your convenience, I'll list them here too:
- If you are interested in judging, strike out Computerjoe's name, and add yours. Thanks! --May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 16:13, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, your scores were just fine. I need to get the scores from two other judges first before I can announce the winner. That'll be pretty soon though. Cheers -- Banes 07:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I closed it early because it has only been two days — I recommend waiting, say, two weeks or so. That way, you can get a clear cut consensus, as enough time will be given for appropriate edits to be made. (Just for the record, I would've voted delete). — Deckiller 20:11, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How does this page you deleted qualify for A7?
- non-notable biography / vanity about a person or persons that does not assert the notability of the subject. You can put {{subst:nn-warn|page name}} -- ~~~~ on the user's talk page, or, if it seems that someone has created a user page in the encyclopedia section instead of their user page, you can use put {{subst:Userfy warning|page name}} --~~~~ on their talk page.
- Unremarkable people or groups/vanity pages. An article about a real person, group of people, band, or club that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If the assertion is disputed or controversial, it should be taken to AFD instead. (See Wikipedia:Deletion of vanity articles for further guidance on this criterion).
The article claimed the artist to be very popular, and by the looks of a google search they may be.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.--Andeh 16:42, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Howdy Andeh! You're right, it should have better been deleted under A1 instead of A7. I had just deleted a handful of A7 musicians and missed the assertion that he's a famous HH DJ. Thanks! - CHAIRBOY (☎) 17:00, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yea I saw it on the RFA, I was going to post a history to the RFA to ask further questions about if it would be handled diferantly with additional markup tags on it, then with a bunch of references and improvements made to it; posting the specific versions as additional questions. Thaught it was a good idea! I'll leave it be though (note i wasn't trying to edit war with you, made my second edit without noticnig your reversion). — xaosflux Talk 02:51, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
new pages
I noticed you posted Lea Hall for speedy deletion. User:Siper101 has created several new articles all about Birmingham, all tiny unexpandable stub. I don't think there is a way to speedy them. Perhaps a mass AfD is in order. Jon513 13:37, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Updating sigs
It really isn't necessary to go around to all of the talk pages you've ever edited and change your sig to point to your new account name. This is going to unnecessarily cause a lot of people to get the "New Messages" banner, and the utility of doing this is shaky at best. Why can't you just redirect the old userpage to the new one? That way you won't have to make hundreds of pointless edits. --Cyde↔Weys 14:55, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, please stop. Lots of watchlists being hit as well. What you're doing is silly. -- I@n 16:28, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you continue doing this after I asked you to stop? I even carefully explained the reasons why it's not a good idea. Please stop now. --Cyde↔Weys 16:51, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
MfD
Hi,
Whenever a discussion closes, it is moved to the "closed discussions" section of the MfD page, a little further down. I didn't close that one, but I did move it down the page, which is where it is now for your (and everyone's) viewing pleasure. Best wishes, Xoloz 18:41, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Editcount
Hi Andy! There is something kind of odd that I can't figure out. I went to Editcount and put my username but it said that "This user does not seem to have any edits, or they don't exist". But that's not true, I have made a lot of edits, so what's that about? loulou 21:14, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UK towns
Howdy Andypandy. I just wanted to drop you a note about all those UK town stubs. I think they're worth saving and I'm trying to add some to them, at least appropriate cats and stub tags. My Rfa and your vote
Hullo Andy, Thanks for participating in my RFA! Ultimately, no consensus was reached, but I still appreciate the fact that you showed up to add in your two cents. As you mentioned in your oppose vote, I need more experience before even thinking of applying again. Over these next few months, I intend to become much more active with article work and AfDs. You can feel free to talk to me about it or add some advice on my improvement page.

Yeah, vandals can be dumb sometimes. And yes, I am left-handed. BTW, you said on AIV that YourCousin was an indef banned user, but he only got a one-week block for wikistalking. But if he wasn't blocked indefinitely before, he will (or should) be now, since sockpuppetry and personal attacks (such as those he made on my talk page) don't really look good on one's record. You've got a Thank you card!
Dear Andy, thank you so much for your beautiful words, your kidness and your trust in me. My Request for Adminship is finally over, and the support and appreciation that the community has gifted me will stick in my mind as long as I live. I have no way to properly express how grateful I am to you for all you've done for me, and all I can tell you is, I'll try not to disappoint you nor anyone else with my use of the buttons... and if I mess up, make sure to come here and give me a good yell! :) Seriously, tho, if you ever need my help, either for admin-related stuff or in any other way, you'll always be welcome to message me, and I promise I'll try my very best.
Dear Andy, I'll also take the opportunity for the kind words you left some time ago at my Talk page regarding my chances to go for the mop - I must give you credit for sparking the admin bug in me! ;) And as such, I feel it is not just a nice editor who chose to support me, but certainly a friend. With a big hug,
Protection
I'll keep that in mind, hun - tho I'm tempted to unprotect my talk page, as it is currently out of reach of new or anonymous users who may be in need of help. What do you think it's best to do? Hugs, Phaedriel ♥ The Wiki Soundtrack!♪ - 21:48, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Hah, no dear Andy, don't worry, I'm not scared :) In my line of work, I can get much, much more stressed than anything that vandals and trolls may cause, please don't worry about me :) But I still do believe your advice is a very good one, basically to ensure an undisturbed channel of communication with regular editors, as well as opening the possibility of helping new editors in true need of aid. Thanks for the great suggestions, A! :) *Hugz* Phaedriel ♥ The Wiki Soundtrack!♪ - 21:56, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message. I often discover vandalism hours, days or even weeks after it has occurred. Just because it is old, I don't see any reason why it should go unremarked. Yours and Ryulong's RFA attempts
For what it's worth, I'm really upset about the outcome of your RFA too. When Ryulong's RFA fails, I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna have a doobie then a brewski or a brewski, then a doobie. Either way, it is a good laugh that you keep this going. I'm sure Ryulong is very grateful that when I say I'm gonna leave it and forget it, you get it all going again.
When you both have you RFA up for a vote again, I will be standing on the sidelines doing cheers! I incest on helping you.. oops ... I mean insist on helping you. You have helped me in so many ways and what you've done for Ryulong... it's phenomenal. You're a real pal. Thanks.
Hey! Do you think you will notice when I vote? Do you think I've voted already? The way it's looking at the moment... looks a little like you guys are gonna need to go down to the gay bar and get around 30 more votes pronto!
I've been thinking about some adjectives... mmm maybe "dogmatic, narrow, rigid, thoughtless and uncooperative" or "utterly asburd" or maybe even "silly billies who play Chinese Whispers with policy"
Ha, ha, heh, haha and ha ha ha.

It's people like you that make editing Wikipedia so fun, so please do keep it up. :) Oh if you didn't know, 72% support is on the line between a failed RfA and a successful RfA, I'm rather proud and happy so many have users have decided to put their faith in me. :) --Andeh 18:08, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's adorable: "on the line between a failed RfA and a successful RfA"... Is that like being 'kind of pregnant'? "On the line" and a penny will get you a hot cup of nothing!
If 100% is the most you can get and 80% is the lowest, then 90% is half way between failing and succeeding. In fact, it's right on the line.
People like you make keeping my personal account private worth it!
YouveNoChance --YouveNoChance 18:14, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Is there any point to this apart from your "80% is the lowest" rule? Your last message was far more interesting.--Andeh 18:19, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was just saying hello really. I have never really vandalised anything. I reverted many of Ryulong's edits by one step knowing full well that they'd instantly be reverted back. My clear message remains on the edit summary on each article however and acts like a political ad on each 1st history page. That was the goal.
Ryulong did wikistalk me and in the end I was so irritated that I threatened him with changing my IPs all the time and reverting his work as a desperate last attempt.. he thought I was bluffing and kept trying to bully me so now he is frightened and doesn't feel so cinfident about bullying anymore. It's a good deed I have done.
I'm not actually gonna try and see if he gets another RFA, but I am glat to have given him a nice swift attitude adjustment this time.
As I said, 99% of my 'vandalism' was reverting his moves one step but I did vandalise his Power Rangers article, something that I see he is obsessed with. Look at the differences. Ha... When I read some of that the next day I nearly peed myself laughing. There is nothing malicious... just silliness.
Anyway,... see!!! you talk me to me cordially and suddenly I'm bored...
heh..
have a nice one.
YouveNoChance--YouveNoChance 18:26, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Sounds like you've achieved your goals then, congratulations.. I suppose.--Andeh 18:30, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The goal was achieved days ago, but Ryulong has drawn it all out. The dispute was over a quote that he upheld in the Jeremy Clarkson article that turned out to be false. He was forced to revert back to my version and didn't like it so he tried to punish me. I turned the tables in a major way, reducing BLOCKS to nothing more than hopeful gestures.
The goal was to keep the article factual, but APPEARING TO BE CORRECT was more important to Ryulong so here we are... and the article is now factual thanks to me.
There is always a way.
