A tag has been placed on Reminderband requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. andy (talk) 15:41, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses. Wikipedia is not the "Yellow Pages". If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets, such as Wikia's Yellowikis. Thank you. andy (talk) 15:47, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lead411

[edit]

Hi Andy! Do you work for Lead411? I've noticed that when you're adding Awards and Recognitions sections to various articles, that website seems to be the common thread. If you work for them, or have some other kind of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest related to your editing, that's not really within the spirit of the encyclopedia. Check out Wikipedia:Spam#How not to be a spammer, and consider going through and removing those links. In any case, it's usually better to integrate links and information into the main body of the article rather than starting new small sections for lists of facts - see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trivia sections) for more explanation, and see Wikipedia:External links for more about what makes up a good external link. Please let me know if you have questions - I don't want to scare you off from editing Wikipedia, or accuse you of something you aren't doing. This is just what your editing pattern seems like to me when I look at it, and there's a chance for you to be a much better contributor. Thanks! Dreamyshade (talk) 20:20, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Dreamyshade! Glad to see you on my user page. No-no, the editing is completely based on my own initiative. Lead411 is just easier to follow since they list mainly middle-sized businesses as their awardees. I thought it might be a good idea to mention the award along with other more popular sites. Besides, most of the latter is already mentioned on Wikipedia, and I'm so eager to contribute something of value when I have the time to do so. Anyway, thanks for sharing your ideas! I will try to be more careful in my editing. Take care! AndyAgr (talk) 09:49, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
