Speedy deletion nomination of Jaicko

[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Jaicko, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Jaicko and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AndrewHowse (talk) 14:51, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

I have blocked this account. In the unlikely event that you have any non-spammy contributions to make, you may use Capcap29 (talk · contribs · logs). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:39, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why have you blocked my account? I provided an informative article about a new artist I have discovered online signed to a major record label, perhaps more relevant than other musicians currently on Wikipedia. You could be a lot more helpful if you actually explained what parts of my article seemed to be too promotional, and I could have taken those out. I have no vested interest in making this a promotional article, but do think it is necessary to have a Wikipedia article on him.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I do not operate multiple accounts on WikiPedia. I do share an IP Address (I believe) as I share a network with many devices. I do not operate multiple Wikipedia accounts though, and did not attempt to write overly promotional Wikipedia entries.

Decline reason:

You seriously expect us to believe you didn't attempt to write overly promotional entries, when all of your edits were solely to promote a non-notable singer? Blueboy96 20:36, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{{unblock yes, Blueboy96, all my edits revolved around one musician. Who is already listed under numerous pages on Wikipedia, just not with a page about him. I am a fan of his music, and therefore decided to put a page up about him. It is my first attempt of doing so on Wikipedia. Just because I'm not writing about the War on Iraq at the same time, for example, you're banning me for being overly promotional? This seriously has to be a joke. If an artist is signed to a major recording company, they are charting on the radio, they have a music video being played on major TV networks, and are being sold in major music outlets, how are they "non-notable"? Can you please be a little more productive in your assessment of me and my page, and show me what aspects (if any) are overly promotional? Then you can take them out (or I) so there is a non-biased article written about Jaicko. I appreciate your response.}} — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewsilb (talkcontribs)

Hi, you can find information mentioning Jaicko on Wikipedia at: Stereotypes (producers) and Edwin "Lil' Eddie" Serrano. He was also listed under "List of Eastern Caribbean People" all last week under Musicians (not sure why not any more, but if you go to google backlogs, he's listed there). He was also listed under "Claude Kelly"'s page, as a collaborated songwriter, but Claude Kelly's page was "speedily deleted" - again check the google backlogs. These are all edits others have made.

I note that you are involved in the music industry but I also note that neither andrewsilberstein.com nor themmo.com mentions Jaicko so possibly there is no COI. You do not need to use Google to look at List of Eastern Caribbean people there is the article history! True Jaicko was mentioned there. He was added with this edit which added several names all of which were red-linked (ie. no article). If that were not suspicious, the guy's next edit was patent vandalism. So I took out the first edit as well.
I have unblocked you but please note that I shall re-block you if I catch you using multiple accounts or trying to re-post an article about Jaicko without deletion review (DRV). What you should do now is write a proper article about Jaicko in User:Andrewsilb/sandbox making sure that it satisfies these criteria. Then, raise the matter at DRV - I shall abstain from commenting there. Indeed I note that the Claude Kelly article had been around for some time and it was deleted by default on the nomination on an anon. So a DRV for him might also succeed. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:14, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jaicko

[edit]

Per the deletion review the draft is not a speedy deletion candidate and you may move (using the move tab) it to article space (please also move the talk page). But note that any editor may still bring it up for further assessment at article for deletion.--Tikiwont (talk) 14:32, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
