USANA Edits

[edit]

Hello Andrewmizzi. I've reverted your edit on the USANA page because we have been unable to locate any reference to the distributor lawsuit having been resolved. The lawsuits between USANA and its shareholders have been either settled by the company or thrown out by the courts and their lawsuits against Minkow have been both dropped and settled by USANA. If you can provide a reference which shows that the distributor lawsuit has also ended please point it out so we can make the necessary updates. I should also mention that even if the lawsuit is over that doesn't mean that the reference to the resume controversy should be removed from the opening paragraph. We want to quickly summarize for the reader what they'd find in the article below. Also, I noticed you removed the controversy section from article and then re-instated it and I would like to thank you for doing so. Many people have not reviewed their changes in the past and have needlessly erased accurate information because they were either hasty and in some cases it seems they simply wanted to censor any negative comments about USANA.Jean314 (talk) 14:06, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andrew, Thank you for responding with the links but I believe there is some confusion about what lawsuit we are talking about. The lawsuit I'm referring to is the one being brought by former distributors not the second shareholder lawsuit. I'm interested in reviewing the past few years of USANA's various legal battles and their outcomes to re-insert them into the article as closed a topic. Possibly including them in the Resume section like LessHeard suggested. I would appreciate it if you could lend a hand and view on the matter as it develops. I'm not sure when I will begin since I am very busy at the moment but I'm going to request help from previous poster. The more the merrier.Jean314 (talk) 20:41, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About your recent deletions from the Usana article

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Usana, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you.

You removed all mentions of lawsuits, all mentions of the company's financial performance, all the external links to other information about the company, and even managed to remove the link to the Usana article on the Japanese Wikipedia. Please review Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines -- as an employee of the company (according to your user page), you have to be extremely circumspect in editing this article, and mass deletions of anything that could remotely be construed as negative, well, that's not circumspect. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 02:16, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please understand too ArglebargleIV, Rhode Island Red is a competitor to ours and he made significant changes to the page. The lawsuits removed were either dismissed due to lack of merit, or settled (with all USANA's conditions being met). Anyone can sue a company and make false claims...why should these claims still have merit on Wikipedia if the courts have thrown them out on lack of merit? Warning About Personal Attacks

[edit]

Please do not attack other editors. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

I will generously offer you a chance to strikeout your accusations that I am a competitor to USANA.[1][2] I am not a USANA competitor nor have I given any indication whatsoever that I am. If you do not respond and take corrective action (strikeout all such comments) within 24 hours, I will notify WP admins about this very serious personal attack and request that punitive action be taken. Please be more careful in the future about casting aspersions on the background and character of your fellow Wikipedians. Rhode Island Red (talk) 22:00, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
