Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Screen Junkies. Your edits continue to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.

  • If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place {{Help me}} on your talk page and someone will drop by to help.
  • The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Screen Junkies was changed by Andrewjshick (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.952069 on 2015-05-17T20:30:15+00:00 .

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Screen Junkies Wiki

[edit]

Hey Andrew. You might consider making a Screen Junkies Wiki where you could post your analysis of Movie Fights, here for example. Sam Walton (talk) 17:58, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've already started, but it is definitely going to take a while. I had asked a question earlier about whether or not a link would be allowed to a wikia since it otherwise has no chance of being seen. Also, why is it that the edit was taken down right after I posted rather than after some other recent edits?

And can you give me the web address of the updated long form so I can post on twitter and youtube?

Ah ok. Well per WP:FANSITE, only wikis with "a substantial history of stability and a substantial number of editors" should be linked, so a link to it wouldn't be appropriate for a while, but eventually maybe! If you go here and click edit it will give you the markup for your edits. Sam Walton (talk) 18:07, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Andrew. Why do you keep reverting yourself? If you want to make changes to that content please do it at the Wiki you're making. Sam Walton (talk) 19:24, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I had the same question: [1]. Is everything OK? JoeSperrazza (talk) 20:00, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I thought it was okay to do that just as long as I put it back the way I found it. Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?- Han Solo

[2] LOL! JoeSperrazza (talk) 01:07, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, so as long as I revert it to conform with wiki standards, everything should be fine. You just need to look up the Screen Junkies page, go to the top to click View history (to the direct right of Edit), and then click the time/date associated with the last addition (green) edit. And you get to see the full thing. Andrewjshick (talk) 01:18, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop reverting yourself endlessly. It's serving no purpose to the Screen Junkies article. Sam Walton (talk) 22:25, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Would you rather I didn't revert myself?

Yes please. It's making me have to keep checking if any actual changes have been made to the page from my watchlist, is cluttering up the history, and isn't actually achieving anything on here. Sam Walton (talk) 22:44, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK, just to be clear, I meant editing the page (adding on additional info) and just leaving it. Andrewjshick (talk) 23:04, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, no then, we've discussed many times why the content isn't appropriate for a Wikipedia article. Sam Walton (talk) 23:09, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is bordering on disruptive now. Please stop altering your work in the Screen Junkies article, do it in your sandbox or somewhere else. Sam Walton (talk) 14:39, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

May I ask why this only became an issue after the video mentioned that this existed? I had been doing this for weeks without any problems. Then the video comes on, and suddenly, there you are. Where was the "disruption" before?

Because it happened to be brought to my attention. There are nearly 5 million articles on the English Wikipedia and only 120,000 people who have made any edit in the past 30 days. This means that many many articles hardly get looked at and the content in the Screen Junkies article happened to only be noticed when I watched that Movie Fight and heard about it. Sam Walton (talk) 13:44, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So essentially it's only disruptive because you made it that way. Because you put it on your watch list. And you're blaming me for something that you did. If you removed it from your list, and I continued to revert (or even if I didn't revert), it wouldn't be disruptive to you. Andrewjshick (talk) 18:10, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure I follow your reasoning. Are you arguing that if someone breaks a rule and is told to stop breaking it, it's not their fault for breaking the rule, but rather it's the fault of the person who caught them? Sam Walton (talk) 08:50, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, I am simply asking: if it wasn't disruptive before, how is it disruptive now? Granted, I am aware this wasn't on your monitor until then, and now you get alerts, but besides your extra alerts (which I did not force upon anyone), what is the difference between the disruption level now vs a month ago? Andrewjshick (talk) 10:21, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's disruptive because you've been asked to stop. Sam Walton (talk) 11:07, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Will the sandbox allow for creation of updated pages that people will be able to access? Andrewjshick (talk) 12:41, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You can create almost whatever you like there, and people will be able to access it via a link. Sam Walton (talk) 12:42, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Come on Andrew, I've asked nicely. Sam Walton (talk) 11:15, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, okay. I set up my sandbox. Is there a way to get multiple sandboxes so that I don't need to have the Honest Trailers and the Movie Fights on the same page? Andrewjshick (talk) 12:18, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, just change the URL to whatever you'd like, such as User:Andrewjshick/Sandbox2, User:Andrewjshick/Movie Fights, or whatever else you fancy. Sam Walton (talk) 12:32, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But hold on, I don't understand what is the problem? Which rule is Andrewjshick breaking? To me it looked perfectly fine. Alex Tamayo (talk) 14:25, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Andrewjshick (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Had not been previously told about rules regarding sandboxes. Admin had said anything was allowed and normal wikipedia rules didn't apply; did not sabotage anyone's page; tried rebuilding in a sandbox so that the whole page could be stored in Word doc since data was not emailed back quickly, sandbox writer had been told initially to recreate it (even though eventually, I was given the data back in email; I don't plan on posting it again in wikipedia since obviously I could expect the same problem, but I do make other edits which don't violate the rules; hence, I request unblocking as there won't be harm; otherwise, continued existence of this account serves no purpose

Decline reason:

Sandboxes are for work on encyclopedia, which yours certainly wasn't. And combining this with your technical match with ScreenJunkiesMovieFightsandTVFights (talk · contribs), I see no reason to unblock this account. Max Semenik (talk) 08:03, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

    • So I am blocked for all eternity from ever editing anything ever? If so, please tell me now so I can stop bothering to find out.
