- Hi Andrew, playing around with the main page just to illustrate what you mean must not be done. Next time, please consider Petr's advice for an appropriate alternative. This action was yet on top of a fake talk page section that you introduced only to prove a point. Please be more prudent from now on, because your actions do not fall within proper conduct. You said that you are new here, and that you have observed for a while in order to contribute appropriately from the start. I am sorry to say, but your learning process was not very successful. - I wasn't 'playing around' I put many hours work in to that. I put it briefly on the page before immediatly removing it cos it gave other editors the most convenient way to check it using the 'differences' option on the toolbar. - Please be careful with calling on WP:bite. The guideline is meant for openly hostile behaviour directed to a newby who clearly has no idea (s)he is going against rules. Both my own and Tomeasy's remakrs were far from hostile.
- Also WP:bite is not an excuse for breaking rules. You are responsible for your own actions and negligence is no excuse. Major changes to a high profile article (like EU) are usually discussed first, as nobody owns an article but a lot of different editors are involved (for low profile articles this is usually no big problem as not many people follow these). Spending a lot of time before some kind of agreement where to go has been reached is generally not a good idea for high profile articles as it can upset regular editors and (in that case) is likely to result in rejection of the suggested changes.
