My article on RETN was declined
Dear AndrewN,Thank you for the analysis of my article on RETN. [[1]]
You characterized my sources as unreliable and suggested my reading the article on reliable sources. According to the instruction, books, textbooks, news and articles in the media are regarded as reliable sources. The text also says: “Proper sourcing always depends on context; common sense…” If we go by common sense, it will be clear that an article on up-to-date issues can`t be so complete and perfect as that on past subjects, objects and phenomena that have been fully explored for a long time. Wikipedia is especially known for constantly updated topical information on various settled and developing issues from a great number of independent authors. Information on telecommunications, which I`ve recently got interested in, is often incomplete or absent. The lack of ready-made material makes Wiki users fulfill research work by themselves. When data is gathered, the work on its publishing should certainly be welcomed. The emergence of a Wikipedia article boosts other authors` work on this article and those linked with it. Waiting for completeness and sending to the recycle bin the “incomplete” articles makes the resource poor.
In defense of the article RETN I`d like to say the following: RETN is not a very old or big company in comparison with modern global businesses. RETN is a Carrier to Carrier, that`s why it is discussed only by specialists and not by popular editions. Nevertheless, RETN`s role in the development of data transmission on the direction Russia – Europe is really important as RETN`s data transmission backbones are used not only by the biggest national providers of the former USSR, but also international telecommunications leaders, such as Google, Level 3, etc. Unfortunately, this information can`t be confirmed by direct links since such info is usually under NDA. References to professional forums and circumstantial data are not convincing either. Although, I`d like to give the following links in defense of the article:
1. AS Ranking (http://as-rank.caida.org/?) from The Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis (http://www.caida.org/home/), an ISP rating according to its role in the world`s routing system, (AS – see http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Autonomous_system_(Internet)) Last year RETN came 14th in the world.
2. Similar source BGPMON (http://bgpmon.org/), constantly analyzing Internet routing tables, gives RETN the first place in Europe according to the quantity of routed prefixes and Autonomous systems (see the second and the third tables on http://bgpmon.org/weathermap.php?inet=4&focus=eu)It is clear that any ratings prove nothing but they show that the article`s object takes a substantial part in the world`s Internet. It`s no use giving these links for the article to be convincing as the article is not about ratings and methods or priority in some characteristics but about RETN itself. It is also important that RETN as a business started in Russia. Since its establishment RETN has been getting its main income in Russia and developing its network in Europe for the convenience of Russian customers. RETN is a privately held company, independent from big financial telecommunications groups. It prefers to develop in silence, that`s why publications about it are not very numerous and most often occur in Russian and can be found in Russian Internet editions. I had to analyze a huge material and to single out the main issues on the structure of RETN`s business. It seems unreasonable to give the whole of the material in the English article, as in that case I would aim at the quantity of references to compensate their deficient quality. Here is part of the analyzed list of regular editions and respectable websites (in Russia):

Which of these links, to your mind, would be useful for the English Wiki article?
The article on RETN is sure to be developed, improved and linked to the articles on other providers. What`s more, the article is needed. For example, the page of another telecommunications provider Atracom [[2]] has a label: “Very few or no other articles link to it. Please help introduce links to this page from other articles related to it.” No doubt, the article on RETN will be of great use here. What`s more, Atracom has a link to RETN from its page (the list of Key partners) but it is redirected to Resistin [[3]] , which, certainly, has nothing to do with RETN as a company. If an article on RETN appears in Wikipedia, such cases of misunderstanding will vanish soon. Also, I`d like other people involved or interested in providing to join my work on Wikipedia. In conclusion I`d like to say that the given criterion «not adequately evidence the subject's notability» can be easily spread to any other branch of professional knowledge that for some reason is unfamiliar to you. If you literally follow such criteria the only thing you will finally get will be articles on some conservative knowledge, known and studied long before the Internet emerged, and/or articles on something fashionable now, which is called “buuzwords”. Modern scientific knowledge, art, economy and their subjects won`t be “adequately evidence”.
Best regards,
User AS9002.

- If you believe the issues have been resolved, please resubmit according to the instructions on the page. I am currently swamped at work preparing 52 computer labs (~1,560 individual computers) for the upcoming semester (which starts week after next). Sorry that I cannot be of any more help at this time. It seems as i have the same IP as an idiot you are investigating
Just got a "You have new messages (last change)." on the Franz Kafka page and found out (after reading the attached messages and checking my IP) I have currently the same IP as some Idiot had used here. Read his comments, seemed a little funny but mostly disturbing. As I am using the same IP he must have used and am also from Israel - i don't have a clue what that means. I am not him - so I hope this knowledge helps you in some way and would help me not getting any further updates on this. Good lock, and have a nice day (I like Wikepdia better than google so i hope stupid guys like him are few). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.125.91.129 (talk) 21:02, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
Fall 2012 Online Ambassador Program
Hi, Andrew!
I know you mentioned you may be unavailable this semester, but if you're still planning to work with a class in the US and Canada Education Program this Fall, please add your name to this census. Once the new class list is available, I will notify you guys so you can sign up for a class (or two) that interests you. I hope you're still interested in supporting these students for the coming term. Otherwise, good luck with the police academy. Thanks! JMathewson (WMF) (talk) 20:37, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- I definitely would like to work with a class or two... just sorting out my school and work schedule. I did admittedly fall behind on my obligations to the two classes we had this summer, so I'll have to consider if I can dedicate some time to at least one class this semester. I'll do my best, and sign up hopefully by the end of the week! AndrewN talk 05:35, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
