Thanks, but how do i use the sceenshot in an article?

Alright, it's done. Take a look at the Talk:Age of Empires III: The War Chiefs discussion article.Bluepaladin 23:29, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But 250 is too small. Preview it that way.

300 is still too small. Perhaps 500? A screenshot of the Battle of Bunker Hill level.

Good point. How do you put a box around it?

Voila. Check the actual Article now.

I'm sorry but no thanks. However, I did add 2 shots of petards to the article.

I love seeing things asplode, too (thats why i put both) but there's no raining fire. The cloud fades then the building crumbles. And if there was, I couldnt go back in time to take a 3rd picture. In both cases that would be cool.

A 3rd picture is up. The last one I have.

Just a note: I disagree with the revert of the "will improve" - it's not vandalism, the editor is right - medical articles should be descriptive, not prescriptive. Sandy (Talk) 00:13, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, it was confusing, considering the level of vandalism. I'd change it myself, but with all the activity on the article today, I don't want to brush up to 3RR myself. Sandy (Talk) 00:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support

It's nice to know that there's someone that I can relate to. It also warms my heart to know that there are actually people who care about me. So, from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you to you for helping me realize that I am not completely flawed. It is people like you that Wikipedia needs, not certain other people who shall remain nameless. Fredil 00:41, 6 December 2006 (UTC) P.S.: Oooh, you play real-time strategy games. [edit]

I just don't understand what you were talking about on my talk page about Mike Knox. His pay-per-view debut is a notable event and I was explaining what he did at the pay per view. I was improving the page and not damaging it. Thank you. 66.235.37.57 15:13, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Risk, per your comment on the Talk page

[edit]

As far as I have been able to determine, Risk has no steady, solid contributors that have really made it their own unlike many other pages. There are several like myself who keep down vandalism and spam, but it isn't the same. I don't really know how a "peer review" works, but I can tell you what is wrong with the article right now.

  1. The rules are poorly summarized. The gist of the game gets lost in unnecessary details.
  2. There are too many "Computer implementations" linked. In my opinion this should be limited to just the Hasbro implementation rather than including the dozens of others, but concensus is against me.
  3. There is too much trivia.
  4. There isn't actually an overview of the game.

In conclusion, I'd be very willing to help in the rewriting and improvement of the article. I'd be willing to assist with a peer review. Unfortunately, at the moment I don't really have the time to do more than an hour here or there. Hope my comments were helpful. You can reply here or on my talk page, but I'll see it sooner on my Talk page. Thanks, Dan Slotman 03:51, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we need to write before a peer review as there is a lot of bulk there from previous contributions. It isn't as if the article is a stub. However, I'm disappointed to see that none of the other contributors have responded on the talk page. They certainly show up when any of their precious external links are removed. I'm taking a look at it now, so may have something a bit later. 24.31.13.129 00:48, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've more-or-less finished my edits to Risk. In my opinion the rules summary is much improved, though no doubt this can still be tweaked. There is an actual overview, though it is still short and somewhat boring. I didn't touch the trivia or computer implementations. (Previous comment was also me--I must have signed out before posting for some reason.) Dan Slotman 23:23, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is Why1991 and I need some help on something. On my user page I have my pictures that link to my user subpages. I was wondering how I could organize them all across the top horizantly instead of up and down verticaly like it is now.

I was also wondering is there any way I can figure out how many edits I have without counting them out by hand, or at least a userbox that does the same.

Admin coaching, etc.

[edit]

Are you ready to get started?

The waiting time over at Admin coaching is long (some people have been waiting in line since July). I'm an admin coach with the project, and for my students I set up a group discussion page so that we could all learn from each other. The scope of this concept has expanded into the Virtual classroom, which is an open forum for the teaching and learning of advanced Wikipedia skills.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate, as a student, as a coach, or both. Every week or two a new major topic of discussion or classroom assignment is introduced, usually with a guest writer who presents his or her expertise on the current subject and who remains on hand to answer questions. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussions, such as sharing your expertise, asking and answering questions, etc.

The current topic of discussion is vandalism, and our guest writer is Budgiekiller.

All discussions are open-ended, so all previous discussion topics and classroom assignments are still there for viewing and further participation. There are also sections for posting miscellaneous topics and questions, requesting coaching assistance, etc.

In addition to inviting those who would like to learn, I routinely invite experts from all over Wikipedia to come and contribute for the benefit of all. The VC is rapidly turning into a clearing house of the best resources, methods, and techniques known for working on Wikipedia.

You are cordially invited to participate.

Here's an announcement box which you can place on your userpage or at the top of your talk page for keeping up to date with classroom assignments.

I hope to see you there. Sincerely,  The Transhumanist    06:38, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Concordia Newsletter

[edit]

NEWSLETTER

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

Help out now!

[edit]
  • Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
  • Give people the Civility Barnstar.
  • Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
  • Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
  • Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.

We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

Decision Making

[edit]

The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

Just a suggestion...

[edit]

Hi,

On your birthday wishing templates, you sometimes have the date that you made the template on instead of the date that you posted it. It was probably caused by the ~~~~ in the template. In case you wanted to make it so that the date that you posted it is on the greeting, I've added a few things to make it all work, curtesy of the Magic Words page at Meta.

Here's the code:
{{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTTIME}}, {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTDAY}} {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTYEAR}} (UTC)

which looks like this:

hope it helps! --lovelaughterlife♥talk? 20:53, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reasons for Quitting

[edit]
This is the "Wikipedia" reason I'm quitting. These fair use laws (even though I don't live in Florida), these complaints, these WP:____ which I haven't even heard about, these facts they've reverted even though they know it's true but it's unsourced even though there isn't any source of it yet on the internet). My immediate "BOO"s on my self-RfA really helped my stress now.
Now the real world. You see, the person behind Simply MP had been invading my privacy making fun of my userpage, and that was a little takedown. My mother has anger issues, my sister is a demon, my school has cruel teachers and even crueler bullies, etc. etc. etc.
Good friends, I say goodbye. I might still come back to chat, or edit my fav pages, but the number-two (can't forget Jimbo ;) ) user is not gonna do anything spectacular anymore.
AndonicO, I appreciate your friendliness compared to others, and I hereby give you first place... you were only about 100 points behind me. Thus, I'll always remember you in my top 6. ;)

My goal this weekend is to get up to 5,000 edits, which I probably would've gotten it "earlier" today but I was gone most of the time :( Oh also for the record there is a 14 aged admin and her name is Sango123 but now she is 15 but doesn't edit anymore. — SeadogTalk 01:13, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I see what you mean now! Well I don't know why there are so many well established members leaving. Hmm...let me explain this from an eastern standpoint. There many editor accounts were created...and they eventually became admins or great editors, but then at one point there came the time to leave. When one leaves another account is created and will become like the others and maybe even better as there is always room for improvement. These cycles continue until they reach Wiki-moksha where they are enlightened with their account and at peace with themselves, their friends and even the vandals can't get under their skins. This process is what I like to call Wiki-reincarnation. Sorry if I got carried away, when one account passes countless are born! — SeadogTalk 01:31, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
