A belated welcome!

[edit]
The welcome may be belated, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Garnarblarnar! I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may still benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

If you don't already know, you should sign your posts on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~) to insert your username and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Again, welcome! Pahunkat (talk) 18:39, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would also invite you to the counter vandalism unit academy, since you've been doing some counter-vandalism work, and to install WP:TW to help with a multitude of tasks. Thanks, Pahunkat (talk) 18:40, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Pahunkat: Hello, thank you for the message. I consider reviewing new changes as a side task of mine, my main goal here is to add more content and pages, but thanks for the suggestion and I do look forward to meeting people here! Garnarblarnar (talk) 17:47, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:58, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

[edit]

Hi Garnarblarnar. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY 01:42, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, User:Fastily. When I try to revert and warn an editor with Huggle it reverts the edit but does not warn them. Do you know how to fix this? Garnarblarnar (talk) 03:14, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Which button are you clicking to revert? There's an option to revert & warn -FASTILY 03:26, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've tried both. Both "revert" and "revert and warn". Garnarblarnar (talk) 03:28, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh interesting, that could be a bug. I'm not a Huggle user though, so I can't speak to any of its quirks. May I suggest using RedWarn? It's essentially a newer, more actively maintained version of Huggle which doesn't require you to download any programs to your computer. -FASTILY 04:00, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see you were able to get Huggle to send users notifications. Just for my understanding, what did you do differently? Also, are notifications not being sent for every revert? For example, you did not send notifications for these reverts: 1, 2, 3 -FASTILY 02:09, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't change anything. Not sure why it is sending only sometimes? Garnarblarnar (talk) 03:12, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah okay, I think you should stop using Huggle then. I can't stress enough the importance of notifying vandals post-revert, as admins rely on such warnings to track abuse and prevent disruption. -FASTILY 03:26, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I will stop using Huggle then. I am sorry I cannot get it to notify people, I will just revert on site. Garnarblarnar (talk) 03:44, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:McPlant.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:McPlant.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
