Thanks, but for the second item, I replaced Facebook with another resource that contains the original documents with an English translation; so I'm wondering why it still had to be removed. Anas1954 (talk) 21:57, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2011 Syrian protests

[edit]

Hello & welcome to Wikipedia. I removed a few of your posts to this article and I wanted to explain why. First thing is about the image. It looks like you tried to link to an external site with a picture. Well, images on Wikimedia sites are internal; they need to be uploaded to our servers first.

The second item that I removed was a snippet that used Facebook as a reference. Social media is written by just any ol person and so it doesn't meet our guidelines for a reliable source. We strive to use the highest quality sources in our articles.

So that's pretty much it. I didn't want to leave you hanging without an explanation of what happened and why. Dawnseeker2000 22:46, 13 April 2011 (UTC) Anas1954 (talk) 03:19, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The content that I removed, and that I spoke to you about previously, has been added back into the article. All looks good. Dawnseeker2000 03:25, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see that it was removed. Well, I think I understand why. The document hasn't been confirmed as authentic yet. Lets wait on this, and if a reliable source (a mainstream news source) validates the story, then perhaps the content can be added back into the article.
